I love those old 70s BBC shows, even those ones your nana used to watch. Recently watched all of Upstairs Downstairs, Poldark and currently up to season 5 of The Onedin Line ("Oh you're a hard man, James Onedin!"). Unfortunately I can't get my wife to watch Colditz or WIngs. Bodice ripping she's fine with, stiff-upper-lipped chaps doing battle with the filthy Hun not her cup of tea.

I enjoyed  Secret Army. They went on to base  'Allo Allo ' on that programme.

Also later 1980s series such as "When the Boat Comes In" and "Auf Wiedersehen Pet".
A classic 1970s show was "War and Peace" and I was addicted to "Colditz" - there was even a board game based on it.

We get the second half of season 4 in Feb/Mar 2014 I believe. Set up very nicely - we don't even know who's definitely still in circulation.

watched the first 2 episodes of Orange in the new Black last night.  Not sure if it was because I was a little bit drunk, or if it was because there were boobies in it, but I really enjoyed it.

I am still watching The Following (half way through series 2) and it is so fucking terrible.  I need to keep watching it though.  I imagine that this is what being addicted to cutting yourself is like.

A series called True Detective has just started over here, and although I have recorded the first one or two, I haven't gotten round to watching them yet.  Great cast (for a tv series) and supposed to be very, very good (http://www.imdb.com/title/tt2356777/)

Looking forward to seeing that. Has it's own fan podcast apparently.

I caught some form of Sherlock the other day.  The one with Benedict Cumberbatch.  I found myself enjoying it.

Certainly the "everyone he loves gets munted" was a bit heavy handed compared to season 1 & 2, but careful what you wish for: Idris might persue his dreadful musical ambitions further!

Who's seen 'The Bridge'? On episode 5 at the momemnt and it is hilarious. The Swedish / Danish stereotype device is hugely entertaining. I'm not sure having a giggle at a character who is high functioning auspergers is fair entertainment, but it works for me.

The Bridge was pretty good I thought. Damn those Danes make good TV, even though they are a bit in love with the definite article, eg, The Eagle, The Unit, The Killing, etc. If you like political skulduggery on an epic scale Borgen is a winner too.
