say what you like about Nadal, but when he turns it on; he is so f**king good.
Pulling out the stops at big times in the match here.

I have chosen this to be my primary viewing after the nix's rather poor attempt at playing football.

Hmm Murray vs Nadal should be good. Murray must be aggressive like Kohl was tonight though.

Murray with good win over the giant Isner - still yet to lose a set. Karlovic 1 set all with Nadal.

Quite fun watching Karlovic. Monster who at times seems like he can't really play tennis apart from serve and volley, but every now and then he pulls some crackers.

Yea, Isner is obviously in pretty good form and on the rise in the rankings, but Murray really did just crush him most of that match.

The Del Potro vs Cilic was tense. Was pleased to see Cilic get through. Fell asleep during the Roddick vs Gonzalez game unfortunately.

All the Quarter Finals are going to be awesome - they all really could go either way.

You are just being a complete moron who obviously doesn't watch much tennis so you don't know what you're talking about but like to hate on Murray. Have fun with that though mate.

He is Scottish.

Three for me, and two for them.

Yea, the Tsonga match would've been more exciting than that Aussie chump attempting to play top tennis. Federer looking class, but what a chump is Hewitt! Annoying that they played the Tsonga match delayed, or we would've seen a lot of the fifth set.

Watched the second half of that Verdasco vs Davydenko. It was like they were both trying to lose the game by the fifth set. Verdasco obviously tried to lose more with 81 unforced errors. 20 double faults. That's five whole service games ffs!

Davydenko has beaten Fed in their last two encounters, so that'll be interesting. Davy will have to raise his game though.

Dead excited about Nadal vs Murray tomorrow night.

Murray is easily the most boring player to watch in the top-5. Way too defensive in important games and that is shown by all his GS losses.

Glad to see all my SF predictions are still in the draw and I think they should still advance. I don't think Cilic can stand another big game and Roddick will be alot harder than Tomic and Del Potro. Murray could win against Nadal but he cannot play as defensive as he has in the past but still it will be hard. Nadal hasn't been too impressive but should be up to the occassion. Davydenko should of won in 3 but didn't put the foot on the pedal which let Verdasco who was dreadful back into the match. If he is to beat Federer who was at his near best against Hewitt today he will need to play like he did in the first 2 sets. But like Murray it seems he too is a 3-set man.

Well, that wasn't at all an overreaction. I have nothing wrong with Murray and never said I liked "hating on him" at all.
I actually do watch a fair amount of tennis, 'mate', and I'm sorry if I've offended you in some way but he is so incredibly repetitive and defensive and I do not find him interesting to watch.    Maybe thats just my completely moronic opinion though?
Or maybe its the fact that no player has been so dull both on and off the court since Tim bloody Henman!

Wow, you scots sure are awfully touchy about him though. Good god. francsernal2010-01-26 00:43:12

What on earth was the rationale behind the 30 minute delay?! Bizarre programming, especially given that they knew that they would be shortly switching over to Hewitt getting his ass handed to him by Federer.Arsenal2010-01-26 09:14:04

Wow, you scots sure are awfully touchy about him though. Good god.

Right, sorry, I do go overboard at times. Fairly nervous about this match!! There's just a lot of (what I consider to be) garbage around about Murray all the time from all sorts of people.

But I think that Murray is actually the opposite of what you say. He is one of the least repetitive players on tour. He has so much variety in his game - moreso than nearly anyone. This is why I cannot accept at all that he's the most boring tennis player to watch ever. It's personal, but I enjoy watching his drop shots from anywhere on the court, lobs, sprinting around like a madman hitting winners at full strength, deadly backhand, best returning on tour etc... I also think it's interesting to watch the variety of speed / spin that he uses all the time. I actually found the Del Potro vs Cilic match quite boring because most of the game they just brainlessly smashed the ball. At times Murray can play defensive, but that's because the other player is losing points on their own - in which case it's really the opposition that's being boring by hitting it into the net! He can play very aggressive tennis when he wants. He usually does in the games where he plays Nadal / Federer in particular.

And Murray just cannot be compared to Tim Henman.

I'm very nervous about tonight. Got the jitters big time!

I personally have nothing for or against either Murray or Nadal so am eagerly looking forward to tonights match from a spectacle point of view. Should hopefully be a cracker.

It will be interesting to see how Murray plays when he comes up against a player like Nadal.

Interesting reading Murray's comments after he lost to Nadal in 5 sets at 2007 Aussie Open (when Murray was pretty new on tour):

Its not hard to come up with a game plan against him, its quite obvious; dont leave the ball in the middle of the court to his forehand. If you do that youre going to do a lot of running. I wanted to keep the points a little shorter, so my game plan was pretty good. I served and volleyed well.

I think I showed Im not just a counter puncher. I was the aggressor for much of the match, hitting a lot of winners.

- he also played pretty aggressive against Nadal when he beat him in US Open semi-final. I'm still scared though!

I think that Ivanovic is still ahead of her. Both have done their fair share of modelling though

Freakin' awesome match. Both players playing great. Nadal sensational at the start to get the break, then Murray cranked it right back.

Hoping Murray can get his first serves in a bit more to make his service games more comfortable. But if he keeps playing such good ground strokes it won't matter!

Looooong way to go though. It's annoying. Win the first set, play awesome and you still have to win bloomin' two more!
