I got chatted up by a young girl from new ziland a while ago, and she told me her name was Zen.

"yeah?" I said. "How do you spell that then?"

"Oh, you know - Zee Ee En"

This is a chick from En Zed, ffs!

Don't you all just love "Text Speak" both in written form and now some are speaking it as well.

My pet hate has got to be people saying/writing "should of" instead of "should have"

Apparently I'm apathetic, but I couldn't care less.

I have a huge pet hate - the pronounciation of the word "ASK".  A lot of Maori/Polynesian kids/youths (& some adults) are pronouncing it as "AKS" !!   I think i know the origins of it.  I think it's from Jamaica via reggae music.  Another pet hate is "WRIT" instead of "WROTE".  Also, can teenagers start a sentence without using "LIKE...."?

Pressurised -> football commentators all the time refer to players as being pressurised.

So, they were put in a hyperbaric chamber ?  No, they were pressured.  Stop murdering English you f**kers.

I have two pet hates....

Adding "s" to the word you. You's is not a bloody word. It pisses me off to cause in my radio class the most used "word" would be you's. I mean, c'mon, learn to speak the language before you wanna blast it all over the country.

And although it's not incorrect english I hate when people say he's a "good c**t".

The only thing that makes Text Language worse is text languange that lengthens words.

eg. Yooh(s) instead of you.

Not buying this excuse.

And by the way, why did you start the sentence with "Like"? Isnt this thread about reclaiming the English Language?
