Speaking of Slade and Oasis - two great British singles bands - what about Madness?

Madness have had an amazing 25 UK Top 20 singles in their career. Their first 20 singles all went into the Top 20, which is quite a run. It also might surprise you to know that their last two Top 20 singles were as recently as 2009 and 2010.

Here's their very first single - The Prince and their most recent - Forever Young.

In the late 80s there was the Electro Hippies. Riding the boom (lasted almost 6 months)of 'Britcore' (cf Heresy; early Napalm Death; Concrete Sox; Doom; Extreme Noise Terror; Ripcord; Dr & the Crippens... ), but steadfastly refusing to engage with the media. Except for one time, when a Mr John Peel (bless his cotton socks)invited them to Maida Vale...

Three short bursts can be found here, of which the 2nd, 'Sheep' is my all time fave.

in those cases they don't make music like they used to - THANK GOD

sorry Terminator but all 3 are bad enough that I'm rethinking my goth look and wondering if pastels are for me

Fair weather fans eh?

You think the hip hop community doesn't cringe a little bit watching this? Maybe, but do you see me trying to trade in my rap credentials? No way!

This is pretty f**king cool though.
