Listened to the Edge for the first time today in one of the work cars (too lazy to switch stations!). I can't quite decide what was worse, Keisha or Katy Perry. Neither one can sing to save themselves. So the thing that pisses me off is people who make sh*t loads of money but have zero talent. It basically tells kids not to bother try hard in life, some other useless schmuck will make more money than you.

Youtube her mtv unplugged performances
I remember seeing a bit of that on the tele the one time. It was sh*te. I think I'm learning towards Katy Perry being the worse singer of the two but it is close. Katy is certainly the hotter though, Keisha is a filthy bit of work. I feel like I could catch syphilis every time she pops up on the tele.

Katy Perry is pretty terrible, that Firework song always cracks me up, her 'performance' is that bad.

A perfect example of talentless people making it big can be found in Paris Hilton.I can't stand the radio generally.  Of the channels I've really listened to over the past few years Radio Sport is alright but so inundated with cricket/rugby and other rubbish it's painful, plus you can't listen to it at work.  The Rock is fairly good.  Best of the music channels.  They play a fair bit of pathetic rock as well which is disappointing, I suppose 'rock' in general covers rubbish like Foo Fighters, Blink 182, and Good Charlotte but it still disappoints me no end when I hear them.  We didn't used to be allowed to listen to it at work but now there's some deal between my work and The Rock so we play them more than any other channel.

How can you compare the foos and blink with Good Charlotte?

Due to the fact all three are just so bad.  But Good Charlotte are much, much worse, so I'll give you that.

GOD I HATE THOSE PEOPLE.
There used to be a guy called Adam that went on and he was one of those people that 'typd lik dis' and he'd come on and be like 'socer is 4 fagz, rugby leage is the real sprt'
and so I basically had a huge long fight with him, that went about 200 comments long, mocking his spelling, and his insults at me, and he got all het up and angry and hasn't been on since.
Problem dealt with.

As much as I love The Rock, some of their playlist does annoy me sometimes. Since when is "Can't get enough" by Supergroove a rock song and they thrash it. I then flick over to Radio Hauraki which seems to play a lot more older and less played rock music. Quite refreshing.

Studylink.  They approved my application for them to cover my course fees.  That's all good.  But I'm getting messages from Vic Uni telling me I haven't paid and asking me how I'm going to pay.  I have no idea what to do about it.  It seems minor but there's just been issue after issue with them.

Call them and tell them you are paying with student loan. They will contact studylink automatically to confirm. (If it works anything like Massey)

Well your league does have to make it affordable. How else will the schoolgirls who keep beating your team afford to join?

Having your car egged. I have no idea who I've p*ssed off. Maybe it was a Spurs or Ford fan
and now 2 weeks later having someone kick the front guard in. Luckily I work for an insurance company and one of our panelbeaters popped out the dent for free. Seriously thinking about buying an old hack to drive to work in. My car appears to be a target.

I'd say a Ford fan is miles worse than a Spurs fan. Same goes for Holden fans. How can you support what is essentially a large piece (or many pieces) of machinery?

Actually put me down for that, the whole Ford v Holden debate is fucking bogans at their absolute worst.

Three for me, and two for them.

Toyota  FTW

Apparently I'm apathetic, but I couldn't care less.

Actually I think that Ford Fiestas >>>> Holden Barinas

But Barinas offer more value for money.

Do they really though?

The comparison on the quality of vehicle is a significant distance apart with the Fiesta being the latest technology and while they tell us that the Korean car industry is catching up I remain to be convinced.

How's my driving? - Whine here

Fiesta is much more fuel efficient but Barinas are about $7k cheaper.

Mind you with petrol prices being what they are that might not be much of a difference.

Barina has better headspace for rear passengers (ooh err)

The incosideration and lack of understanding towards people who were victums of last years earthquake. People getting $5000 fines for not mowing lawns on properties which they aren't even allowed to live in, not only are they paying the mortgage on the house, they're also paying rent (in some cases) and now the council wants $5000?

Also that people with uninhabitable homes are being told they must still pay insurance premiums  as the house is a liability. And I quote (roughly) "Someone could come and set the house alight, which might then spread to neighbouring houses, and there is a liability there".

I love that she is the one that has been involved in a franchise opening in the town, some Indian chain. I also love that it seems to have dramatically increased the guys business.

Good to see a smalltown not supporting that sort of bullsh*t.

They haven't been fined, they have been threatened with a fine if they don't get it to 100mm (Not unreasonably low) within a month. I completely agree that the way it was done was crazy, and they should have completely modified the standard letter to be much more sympathetic, however it really is a fire risk, and the property owners need to deal with it.

I don't understand the second part though. I don't see how (assuming the property is maintained to a reasonable standard so there is no negligence) a fire lit on the property by someone other than the owner that then spreads will see the owner liable. Surely the liability is on the fire lighter. I understand that the insurers will charge premiums if the owners want to maintain coverage, but the owners can just not pay and choose not to be insured.

The insures/EQC really need to get on with knocking these condemned properties down so the owners can move on.aitkenmike2011-02-04 11:45:00

It was written that way to give you the impression that it was a race issue.

While slipping in her real issue, which was that it's a franchise that poses a danger to small businesses in the area (which is a legitimate concern,if the franchise runs at a loss to run others out of business, then jacks the prices). Also that it was allowed to open without proper process being followed.

I don't know actual facts so this isn't my opinion,I'm just pointing out what her issue actually was.

Nothing to do with race. So I guess the article pisses me off

The problem with that theory is that it isn't actually a franchise.

From the article:
"Mr Khuon said that Town and Country was not a franchise.

Recently Mrs George spent $20,000 fitting out half of a shop she owned in Waitara for an Indian restaurant franchise Masala Express,"

Also, she threatened to investigate the guys immigration status (for the record he is an NZ passport holder.)
