I just got an email from Nintendo advising that the new 3DS is having a price drop. From $349.95 to $249.95. That's a bloody good deal I think to myself, might look into it this weekend I think to myself. Until I scroll to the bottom of the email and see..

Nintendo wrote:

New Zealand price for Nintendo 3DS from 12 August will be SRP NZ $343.99

Only 2 issues with that Mr Incredible:

1 - Would have to get clearance from her indoors
2 - Still no guarantee of employment once I move there

Apart from that it's a cracking idea!

Given my current employment predicament I have had to consider relinquishing the right to wear said trousers...

Steve Williams. Why do we obsess over a caddie. A fucking caddie?

Actually buffy i think its because caddies are actually quite important to golfers and the way they perform. Good caddies will know the course like the back of their hand but also will be able to get in the golfers head. The game is mostly a mental battle with yourself and caddies are meant to be able to help overcome that battle. Caddies will offer a lot of advice out on the course, they are they only other part of a golfers team. If they were just bag carriers they wouldn't earn as much as they do - Steve Williams was earning %10 of Tigers winnings which is quite a big slice.TopLeft072011-08-08 20:49:34

Yeah but come on. The media here are going on as if that Adam Scott win was solely down to Williams. In fact if you read the headlines in several papers you would think Williams himself won and finished x amount of places above Tiger.

I challenge you to name any other caddie for a top golfer. If you come up with 1 i will be surprised. If you got 5 i would be astounded. Is the reason he gets a ridiculous amount of media attention here because we have rubbish golfers?

Three for me, and two for them.

I'd say its because we have rubbish golfers, yes.

But also because Steve Williams has accomplished a hell of a lot.

Yeah probably. Im just saying he's good at what he does and it's not as strait forward as a lot of people think. I did cringe when the media started saying things like "an all black adam scott wins with steve williams as caddie..." etc

Like snuggling up to arguably the greatest golfer ever to play the sport?

If caddies are meant to be there when the going gets tough like TL says then what was Williams doing after Tiger's meltdown around the back end of 09? Obviously didn't help him through his mental problems in order to compete at the highest level.

Sorry but the amount of credit he gets from NZ media (no one else knows nor gives a sh*t about him elsewhere) is quite ridiculous.Buffon II2011-08-08 21:05:00

I agree with you, it is disproportionate.

But regardless, he has succeeded as a Caddie. But he is just a caddie, perhaps if we had any golfer who had won half as much as he has then there wouldn't be so much attention on him. But he really is NZs only decent link to golf since Michael Campbell was any good.
