Both TV3 & One News lead stories being the 2.9 EARTHQUAKE in Auckland.
Get a 4king grip, Christchurch has had 5 shakes today, Te Anau had a 4.5.
One News even mentioned that there are no reports of Lava from Rangitoto.
Can't wait to see how many EQC claims go in for this one!

Some of the comments on geonet's facebook status for that quake are loltastic. Aucklanders are really getting angry at the Canabs' snide comments.
You can accuse Aucklanders of many things, but I guess "having perspective" isn't one of them. I can understand panic, especially among Cantabs who have fled there, but the attention this is getting really is pathetic.

The amount of airtime/publicity that Auckland got on the tv late news when they had that 2.9 magnitude earthquake 9pm last night!
Much like the airtime/publicity Akld gets on tv news on Akld Anniversary day. Wellington Anniversary never gets a mention the week before, nor any other provincial anniversaries for that matter.

Aucklanders were shaken by a magnitude-2.9 earthquake at 9.09pm last night with one witness reporting it "felt like a gush of wind".
The earthquake was centred just off Mission Bay at a depth of 9km, and felt across Remuera, the North Shore and east Auckland.
There were no reports of damage.

Agreed.

Profile pic. Should you be interested. Lakhsen, on the right, lost touch with him.
Mohammed, on the left, I'm still in touch with. He's now living in Agadez, Niger. More focused on his animals now as tourism has dried up. Is active with a co-op promoting local goods, leather work and bijouterie, into Europe.

Stopped at a pedestrian crossing to allow someone to cross. Driver behind me pulled out and try to overtake me and ended up stopping just short of the pedestrian. Driver then "nutted off" at me...

The roads were full of idiots today, something in the water.

He/she nutted off at you because they were in the wrong. Seems to be the way these days

stupid myths that are dressed up as science: Exhibit 1
Also the one about spinach being high in iron (due to a misplaced decimal point) and no-one picking it up before publication - but afterwards no-one then listened to the attempt to correct the mistake.

The Online New Zealand Herald referring to the football section as "soccer"
I now only read Stuff, at least they have got it right
About the only thing that Stuff gets right in relation to football.
The chap Harper for the Herald isn't too bad as far as hacks go.
