Looking increasingly like I will miss my first Phoenix home A League game. Not as bad as the previous messages above but still sad to me.

Proud to have attended the first 175 Consecutive "Home" Wellington Phoenix "A League" Games !!

Cheers all. Yesterday was a rough day and explaining it to a 3 1/2 year old took some resolve and stiff upper lip.

Got the match ticket, got the ti e off, havent got the air fare, nor the transport down there.  Had webjetted everything but it and Mr Plastic argued. Such is life, has taken me 5 days to come to grips. I think my wife is not happy with me as a result.

I can chip in $50. Can't break this streak.

Thanks for the offer. Had a $49 fare down there and a $35 one back the next morning at 7 lined up.  But getting around etc makes it a hassel this year. As much as I would love to keep the run going. I make it about 117 games on the trot. Not a bad run.

Do you mean getting around down in Christchurch is a hassle this time?

APPLAUSE!!!! Great run.

Profile pic. Should you be interested. Lakhsen, on the right, lost touch with him.
Mohammed, on the left, I'm still in touch with. He's now living in Agadez, Niger. More focused on his animals now as tourism has dried up. Is active with a co-op promoting local goods, leather work and bijouterie, into Europe.

So are we chipping in to help keep the dream (run) alive?

If so I can help.

A 'men' orientated TV channel proposed from TVNZ.

Cringeworthy and makes men look like idiots.

I didnt see any planned content.  What is it that makes us look like idiots?

The fact that we would need help to find the shows we like. Also makes TVNZ look like idiots, implies that certain TV shows are gender specific.

Ah right, I feel ya.

They probably should have just made the channel and not give it a male specific name, if it pulled in a big percentage of male viewers then they did their job and don't need to annoy anyone.

The's probably it. If it was all cars, action movies and sports (because just us men like those things) they could call it the "Big Loud Fun Stuff" Channel.

My partner who for some reason is a huge fan of Bad Boys and Bad Boys II will be gutted she cannot watch it when it's on a men's channel.

meh all products target specific demographics. There are channels that clearly target women too. Don't see anybody outraged about "woman's day" magazine.

Calling it "man channel" would be cringeworthy, but doubt they'd be that stupid.

Allegedly

I think what Tegal wrote is totally fair.

Men can buy Womans Weekly and watch E! etc. but they aren't the target demographic.  Its probably just more of the media getting a sniff of a sexist scandal and the world is coming to an end.

It will just be an action and dumb thing channel that I will probably watch every night.  As long as it doesn't do a softcore porn thing or something stupid like that it probably wont mean anything more than more free to air content.

Certain family members who say things like "We are so lucky to have  <Child Name here>'s Nanna and Poppa live just around the corner from us" when said grandparents have lived there for 20+ years and the family members in question bought their house 6 months ago.

Not sure luck really came into this one. It was a calculated move so that said family members could fully utilize the grandparents for babysitting so that they could continue living their excessive lifestyle as they did before they had their child.

I sometimes wonder if they fully understand the word "responsibility"...

I am so disappointed when I see a new entry into this thread from C-Diddy, open it, and discover that it is not about the water cooler at work.

All I do is make the stuff I would've liked
Reference things I wanna watch, reference girls I wanna bite
Now I'm firefly like a burning kite
And yousa fake fuck like a fleshlight

We are really lucky that my parents live a couple blocks away from the house we just bought in the town we are moving back to because it's the only way we could afford to buy a house.

Free babysitters for date night, I only had to add a 1.5 hour work commute to get that privilege.

that is easy to say but living in wanganui there is not a lot of choice if like me you did not listen at school and have no qualifications to get a higher paying job. i am now coming up 50 so this also makes it a little harder to find work and i get terrible migraines that cause me to have time off work on a regular basis.the company i work for are happy for me to take time off with migraines which a new job would not be keen on.

i have had pay rises over the 20 years but when minimum wage goes up they do not put your wages up and then minimum wage catches you up and you are back to square one.
