Wellington 7's dying a slow, painful death!

I couldn't believe the crowds this morning.  I was expecting it to pack out for the NZ Fiji game but nope.

But it did sell out. Everyone was dressed as yellow seats!

The fun police killed it. The Nix should try to steal the 7's market and target the drunken mess/vomiting in the street/slutty costume demographic. Clearly they didn't give a shark about what was on the pitch and were only there for the party anyway. Let's have a fancy dress themed home game with cheap booze!

I don't think the sevens dying is a good thing, I did avoid town when it was on but it brought a lot of money into our economy and was another fun event for Wellington. They should have just moved it into a Wellington Mardi Gras.

Yea can't help but agree with this.  Popular events bring more events and the 7s was the event.  It's just too bad the organisers hurt it the way they did.

It had better not take the Nix down with them is all I have to say on the matter

Got home at 04:30 Monday morning after watching the game - yesterday was VERY challenging.  

Great game though - was heavily invested in the Falcons so gutted with the outcome, but it was one hell of a comeback by those stinking pats

Local football season kicking off this weekend!

Hmmm feels a bit weird to not be playing for the first time since I was a kid. Well, missed one season with injury and another while off on an OE, but this is the first year I've actually decided I don't want to play. Didn't really enjoy it much the last couple of seasons and also busted the same ankle twice last season, and that combined with feeling pretty fed up with football at the moment anyway due to being an Arsenal fan has meant I couldn't really think of a worse way to spend my Saturdays this year. Decided to focus on tennis this year instead which I've enjoyed playing a lot more recently so going to give the winter competitive stuff a go for the first time.

Thought about doing this last year too and ended up still playing because it's what I've always done and I thought I'd regret giving it up. If I find I miss it I may look at going back to playing next year. Still playing for 2 lunchtime indoor teams so that feels like enough without giving up evenings and Saturdays to it too.

Consecutive wins over Melbourne Victory for the first time in Nix 10 year history and taking out the head to head against them 7-6
