I just want to say that that was one brilliant game of league. It really put to rest any question over which sport is better, league or rugby - rugby's so boring! League is a fast game and good to watch, that's why it's my favourite sport (football is better, but football isn't a sport, it's an art).

I think the warriors will make the top four.loyalgunner2007-08-07 05:33:47

I dunno it depends i mean id watch NRL over NPC any day but when it comes down to the WC knockout stages and the AB's are on i'd choose that over the NRL.

Three for me, and two for them.

If the AB's were playing Aus in the world cup final I'd still watch the warriors over them anyday. By the way, where is the League world cup being hosted? I heard that it was going to be co-hosted by NZ and aus, but I'm not sure if that's true.loyalgunner2007-08-07 16:48:23

Sadly I won't be at the Nix game, but I will be taking my usual seat at Mt Smart Stadium on Saturday night to see the Titans get a hammering. One of the few joys of living up here is having a Warriors season ticket.

Apparently I'm apathetic, but I couldn't care less.

I'm beginning to join the 'league is better than rugby' side as well.

Although I enjoy watching both Rugby Union and League on the whole I prefer watching League, except for when Northland is playing rugby...but thats only because they are my province, nothing to do with the sport.

As a Kiwi born-and-bred Victory supporter waiting for the A-League to start I am enjoying the NRL immensely.

In fact, I am surprised to find that despite childhood indocrination - I can well remember when NZ league was a joke - NRL seems these days to be almost entirely preferable to union.

The last Super season was pretty dire; none of the union Tests since then have really sparkled the same way the Warriors/Roosters game did; the ABs, it seems, may have peaked too soon for the World Cup; union admin seems inept by comparison ( in Oz anyway).

Who'd thunk it?

Go Storm!

Go Victory!

Just back from the game. Another great win, but the Titans were s**t. Crowd of 20,000, where were all those b******s when we were in the slump a couple of months ago? Funny watching all the 'first-timers' trying to find their seats.

Apparently I'm apathetic, but I couldn't care less.

Yeah, considering how many mistakes the Warriors made, the Titans were awful.

Still if you can rack up 30 points playing poorly wait until it comes back together in a weeks time.

How's my driving? - Whine here

Yea sweet well take the points any day of the week regardless of how we won itand the crowd was awesome, looked pretty packed...thought Todd Burne (who i usually give a bit of stick) stepped up. credit when its due. forwards were awesome.

great first 20 by thw Warriors. If the Titans didnt butcher about 3 or 4 genuine try scoring opportunities, it could have been different.

Thought we got a bit complacent after that 18-0 lead and a few frustrating errors crept in.

hoping cowboys lose tomorrow nite at Penrith (they have a crap record in Sydney).

Also made some ground on Parramatta, who have the Storm away next week. Eyeing up 3rd possie...bring on Manly in a couple of weeks...

20000 at the Warriors game and only 13000 at Eden Park for the rugby. There's a message in there, I think!

Yup. Get a decent 'product' on the park, set your prices to encourage people to come along and you'll get the crowds rolling in. Hopefully, the 'Nix will be working along those lines.

Did anyone see Sonny Bill's performance yesterday?? I have been a Raiders fan since about 1991 when they lost to Penrith in the Final...but yesterday Sonny Bill almost beat the Raiders by himself. He is such an incredible athlete and so skillful...hopefully he can stay injury-free and keep putting those performances on. It was a shame the Warriors missed out on signing him last year...but thats the salary cap...

I love League but find Union the most boring game in the world. It's interesting that so many other football fans feel the same way. It amazes me that a game as boring and slow as Union can be more popular among the general population than League.

i missed the game against the Titans, but try and get to most of the games at Mt Smart. siac2007-08-14 01:12:34

I think that you'll find League is more popular than Union at the moment, just switch on Radio sport and you'll hear that people and being put off by Union.

Maybe it's the overexposure, the low quality of play at Air NZ Cup level. I still like Rugby and occasionally watch it but League takes preference.

In comparison between the two. Rugby can't match the crash and bash entertaining style of league. Big Hits, big collisions, multiple off loads and the need to kick or throw the ball around on the last. But, I think scrums are a waste of time, the video refs are horrible, and forward passes happen too much.

Scrums in both Union and League are pointless in my opinion.

Scrums in rugby are boring and are one of the things that makes it such a slow game. At least in League they are over with quickly.

Because scrums in League are almost never won against the feed, or used for a push over try, it may seem to make sense to get rid of them but I think they serve one purpose; bringing all the forwards together into a small area which can then create attacking opportunities once the ball is released from the scrum.

Mind you, I've never played either game so I'm hardly an expert :)

Raiders 26-24 Warriors, they got 3 trys down the left flank as a result of michael 'i am going 2 prison' crockett, he needs to get the axe, if the warriors are to get anywhere thet must defeat lower teams like the raiders, no wade disrupts the whole set-up, get him back and send crockett off 2 prison where he will realy learn how to defend, also why is it the last 3 games the warriors have played in aussie they have got no penatlies in the 2nd half? we would have been clear 4th but now are 6th

Around the 68th minute rapira charges down a kick and regathers it and is tackled, while on the ground the raiders fullback punches the ball out, i remember simon mannering being sin binned for doing the same against the roosters,  why wasn't this at the very least a knock on against the raiders, if the maxwell remembered there was another team on the field then it should have been a penetly to us

Bad decisions are part of sport, you've just got to take it on the chin. Well I've watched enough games to think this poor referring is just part of the game.

Also, I don't think Crockett can be all to blame. Ropati, Swann, Witt all get sucked in and leave Crockett with a 2 on 1 or even 3 on 1 situation. He is a bit small compared to other wingers too.

I'm in favour of starting Wairangi Koopu instead of Swann and I think Patrick Ah Van deserves more game time.

Agreed wai is much quicker than logan due to his days as a centre, patty ah van needs 2 be back in for crockett, its a shame the warriors have played the knights twice as they are getting pumped by penrith 46-6, frank pritchard hatrick outstanding

Yeah like the referee on Saturday who said in a football match he was still playing advantage - think he's been watching too much rugby.

Great game.

Pity about the "I'll go along 'cos they're winning" muppets doing the Mexican wave  .
Good fun  trying to get out of the car park quickly to race home and see the 'Nix game. Hope the Dragons can do us a favour tomorrow by giving the Eels a pasting.
