yeah its hard when our captain is only up to the knees of the shortest players in most of our opponents teams.

Look who's fcken talking, mate !!! I told you a thousand times..you're not that much tall than me. Besides, if I had scored 3 of the 4 goals you scored, in the same fashion that you scored them, I would go hide myself! I mean, that poor West African Keeper, who had a seizure and left the ball there for you to tap in..I would have left the ball there and kept my honour intact!!

Moreover, your CAPTAIN ran like a mad-dog out there, never giving up and fighting until the end!!

Giu

Bro u ran like a chiuaua
and if you ever scored three goals in a game i would go hide myself!!!
and yeah it was a great through from tony. lol

Hi Guys,

Sorry, I haven't been able to contribute since I first posted the tournament update earlier in the week.
One thing for sure is that we get this in football, although football is known to be the most beautiful and skilfull game in the world but we still have 'not that beautiful side' of it.
It happens as they say 'sh*t happens', the question is how do we handle / solve it when it shows up.
Honestly, people are skeptical and watching how we can sustain this kind of tournament because of undertone issues (like the one that happen last week).

Anything that happened that saturday was settled with the authority by Monday night and they are happy that the player has been caution and for the team to play the play off with somalia this saturday.

These things happen from both players and officials. What I know from my little experience (25 years of football) we do get bad calls against us and we are always not happy about it, we scream and yell at the referee but you don't get and go close to the official that he will fell treaty or feel uncomfortable.

So guys, let enjoy the rest of the games and look forward to next year tournament. It is well!

Gui, Maddy, Tony, and All Black Captain' s Cousin(LOL). We've got the idea of the team that would feature in the novelty match; it's going to be a mixed(man & woman) team and if 3 of you would like to volunteer to officiate, that will be awesome.

Do have a nice cool day.

Only saw a little bit of the Sudan vs Celtic game,  Celtic were up 5 - 2 with 5 mins to play.  Sudan had a lot of the ball in the 2nd half but just couldnt make the final pass to break down what looks to be a very good defence.

UK Kiwi run out 3 - 2 winners in the other game in extra time. after it being tied up at 2 - 2 in normal time with UK scoring with 3 minutes to go in normal time to send it to extra time.  This game was played at a good pace and in great spirit by both sides.  Zimbabwe took the lead after about the 30 min mark on the counter attack from a UK corner.  Uk levelled the score on the stroke of half time.  The game opened up in the 2nd half with both teams mounting some good attacks.  Uk Kiwiw missing some easy one on ones.  with 15 minutes left Zimbabwe took the lead again from a free kick just inside the UKs half.  The wind caught the ball and it drifted over the keeper into the back of the net.  With time almost up and the Uk side pouring forward in numbers.  A cross was delivered into the far post were the keeper went up for the ball in a crowd of the UK boys, he failed to hold the ball and it was a tap in from the UKs right back.  The protest went on for a foul on the keeper which were waved away by the lines man and ref.  Extra time was called for, 10mins each way.  About 5 mins into the first period the Zimbabwe keeper muffed he goal kick which went straight to a UK player who calmly played it through to his striker who made no mistake this time one on one.  The keeper getting a hand to it only to see it slide into the net.  Zimbabwe pushed forward and created a couple of good chances but just couldnt find the finish.

Sunday Celtic were just much too physically strong for us and played really well as a team unit, we had so many chances but just failed to take them well. A couple of soft goals let in by us didn't much help our chances and I did think at one point at 3-2 we were still in with a chance. Celtics strikers really took every chance they had very well and this proved in the score line. I think if we had taken more of ours the game would of been a different story. Well done to them though and all the best of luck for the final

Hi Everyone,

The action in the last eight games lives up to the hype with the explosive semi finals between Zimbabwe and UK Kiwi going late into the extra time to determine the winner.

UK Kiwi stunning performance will have Sunday Celtic team re strategizing for the final in 2 weeks time same can be said of Zimbabwe and Sudan third place match repeat of 2006 final.

There would be a novelty match in between the two games. This is an opportunity to have the ladies participate in the festival.

I have refereed two games at the tournament thus far and have been thoroughly impressed by the attitudes of the players from each team. I think it's fantastic when we can have a tournament where people can come along and simply enjoy playing football.

Congrats to Tayo, the organising staff, and the players who have made it such an enjoyable experience

by the way, if you have a look at the goal scorers chart, you'll see there is a guy called Daniel who's got 2 goals, that must be Chile..his team didn't make it though. Think they only got one point in 3 games

Final tomorrow, what are the predictions for the Final UK Kiwi v Sunday Celtic, will either team stack their side? or just use the players who have got them to the final. UK Kiwi to win 3-2.
I hear Pedro is the referee that keeps with the Ethic touch and he deserves it referee of the tournament at UH last week

I play in the UK Kiwi side and no stacking will happen from us either.  It should be an open game with a few goals scored.  Of course we will score at least one more than Celtic.

Just got to wonder how many times Pedro will tell me to go away go away.

With your young legs Spurs crazy,   Pedro won't be able to catch you to tell you to go away. If you don't get in his ear you'll be alright

celtic are a really good team unit, physically very strong and play well together, I feel their defence may let them down though, we cracked through it so much during the semi but lack of any finishing ability absolutely killed us, at the other end of the pitch they have two very good strikers who will be looking to have a crack from anywhere and back themselves well in 1v1 situations.

Not sure how we will go vs Zimbabwe..

Well that was a thrilling 3rd/4th play-off!! Zimbabwe up 3-1 at half time for us to come back and be level 3-3 all at the end of normal time! Ref called ten minutes extra time each way which I was well pleased with because I felt we were alot fitter than Zimbabwe were and it showed with us taking the game 5-3!! The guys were so happy with the result!

Big ups to Tayo and the whole organising commitee, was a really fun tournament and I absolutely enjoyed myself and will definitely be back next year to play again!!

Well done to UK KIWI on winning, third- fourth game was good to watch, Spurs crazy i hope that wasn't you that got a yellow card from Pedro how many times did he tell you to go away, he seemed a little pissed off when he gave the 2 yellows, the guy from Sunday Celtic had been causing abit of trouble with elbows and hacking ankles so deserved his and Uk Kiwi grabbed him round the neck lucky to stay in my view.
Great presentation of trophies compare was brillrant.

Well i did get a yellow,  first one of the game for the foul just outside the box.  Yeah he spoke to me a little bit but never heard the go away call from him.

Was a good game, and went from end to end.  I do think that Celtic were a bit scared to shoot. They played some good balls across the edge of the box but no one wanted to take the shot.  Yes was a good trophy presentation, and well done to all the organizer's. Job well done.

Well done to UK Kiwi

Celtic had no legs at the end, but came close

Unforturnate that some of Kiwi Players had to mouth off at ref and generally behave like idjits- even when winning 1-0

This is a very cool tournamnet and shoudl remain a SOCIAL experiment- All good fun afterwards though

Thanks to Tayo and all involved- bring on 2008

Thats a bit of a rough call isnt it.  A refs decision will always make 11 players happy and 11 players unhappy.  To voice your concern and say that he got that one wrong makes him think twice next time if it is done in the right manner.  Im not sure of what incident you are talking about and I may not of heard it.  But of all the comments I heard towards the ref were fine.  Players will always dispute a call if they think it is wrong.

Well Spurs, it was really just a couple of players at the back for UK kiwi who were using foul language

while i support their rigth to challenge the ref, getting so worked up your face is a dark puce and spittle is forming on you lips is a bit ott.

it was great to see so many cultures out on the football pitch.. even though we lost the final we were pretty happy with how we went.

agree on some points before where our D was a little dodgy.  the old boys who won the final were never in danger once they scored as experience told, they were a good team with a couple of quality players.

great work to the boys behind the tourney! great fun
