A frightening win to the European XI over West Africa by 5-3.
Permalink Permalink
over 18 years ago · edited over 13 years ago
hahah I was gonna leave the same post...
Well, to sum it up please allow me to add a few things:
Europe XI dominated the first half, finding the net 3 times in the first 25minutes, thanks to a couple inventions by Tony "magic foot" Morrisons..The defence behaved and the only goal for the West Africans was the result of a misunderstanding between a defender and our keeper.

In the second half West Africa played better, and their superior stamina helped them to get close to the equalizer, but a very inspired Kenny McCaul made it 5-3, scoring the first hattrick of his wretched career. In the midfield Giuliano "the Italian" Serrao and Mike Thorn put up a fierce resistance, and despite 3 injuries to Europe XI occuring in the second half only, we still managed to get a win.

Any chance of posting the results of all the game on sportzone.org.nz?? I'm really curious to see what happened in our group..

Sunday Celtics

Wellington Sunday League met and played together last Sunday and realised that we had a large number of Irish and Scottish heritage players

Therefore we have renamed our team as Sunday Celtics

Celtic ( with a hard C, as in Keltic) being a term for the combined ethnicity of peopel from Ireland and Scotland-

Sunday Celtics is made up primarily of players from Shamrocks Sunday football Club, some Brooklyn Players and one Sunday Blazer

Lets go Celtics!

so I guess when you said "I have stuff to do at the office" you meant you had to surf the Net and stuff like that ay?
Cool..let's see if we can beat the Zimbabweans on Sat..it's the clash between the two leading scorers of the tournament, and we are also playing the former champions. It's gonna be tough, but who knows...if Zac is inspired and actually passes the ball, who knows we might even get a few goals in...
