We are still desperately lacking a thorough rundown of the Rapa Wharf match. Surely someone parochial and one eyed with a computer was there and can give us a controvertial account?

Incredible stamina. No shame. Yellow Fever.

Sounds like a game where you want Anendra Singh covering it.

So, where can I find the draw? Can't spot it on NZ Football's web site.

Oi Oi Edgecumbe... lets have a clean sheet

Chatham Cup for Capital/Central (Home teams first)

Island Bay United v Wellington United
Lower Hutt City v Miramar Rangers
Upper Hutt City v Havelock North Wanderers
New Plymouth Rangers v Palmerston North Marists
Napier City Rovers v Massey University
Kapiti Coast United v North Wellington
Tawa v Marist
Western Suburbs v Wairarapa United

Nelson v Wakefield? That's wrong. Wakefiled were beaten 5-1 by Richmond last weekend.

Kotahitanga. We are one.

Yeah they made a mistake, tweeted later.

So two more Central League clubs go out at this stage then.  Wests v Rapa looks a tad tasty

Yeah they made a mistake, tweeted later.

And now made a second mistake in the Womens Draw, putting in the team that got knocked out again. Said it was BNU v Wellington United, but BNU lost to Petone there. You would think you checked you had the winning teams...

At least they were football teams, actually in the Cup

REVISED FIXTURE | #ChathamCup Round 2: FC Nelson vs Richmond Athletic AFC

Really makes you wonder how much of a "draw" it is.

Coincidence that only one Central region  team (Havelock) has been drawn against a Cap Footy side who just happens to be the Lowest ranked (based on league position) Upper Hutt. Certainly helps with the romance of the cup and having lower rNked teams progress. I am not complaining  but there are some amazing coincidences that seem to happen every year in the draw.

I will go and get my tinfoil hat.

I'm not gonna argue with that. Apparently there are witnesses but there does seem to be certain patterns each year.

Hmmmmmmm Hamilton Wanderers have not been drawn home in the cup for three years now.

There is an third party person there each time. This time it was the AFF comps manager. Enzo has done it before.

I think it's a jerk move to questions the draw. Basically its an unsubstantiated slur on the integrity of all those involved in the competition.

Guess what, unlikely things happen.

I don't think the actual draw is rigged but I do think they load the draw sometimes.  Which is their right of course.

But hey isn't this forum based on unsubstantiated slurs...

"don't think the actual draw is rigged but I do think they load the draw sometimes." ? what's the difference

Simple just create another set of pots to draw from, just like at the world cup and champions league when they have all these regulations about teams from same confederation/country being in the same group.

Basically increasing the percentage of an outcome they would like.

You realise that is seeding, right?. which is all described in detail in the comp's regulation.

We all ignoring the fact that the two Napier and two Plamy teams have been drawn apart? because that would be an obvious rigging option

When Enzo and I were invited to attend the draw on a couple of occasions last year, we ended up actually doing the draw, witnessed by staff of both NZF and Northern Football. I did the homes for one Cup and Enzo the aways, then we swapped venues for the other Cup.

No jiggery-pokery, ulterior motives or evidence of any scandal or conspiracy theories or any such gob5#1+e involved - just team names on matching-sized pieces of paper put into a trophy's bowl, from which they are drawn at random.

Cheers,

JR

I'm just saying there's patterns each year, I don't know how those come about but if there are witnesses of course it's fair

...and there were also representatives of the clubs involved in the draw there as witnesses too - the ones who could be there.

If we can't blame NZF for an early exit from the cup who else is going to be the scapegoat?

It can't be our team.

I was just thinking the same thing, as long as there is no hold up in travel at the end of the motorway it should be ok

Even if it goes to extra time you've got a couple of hours to play with.  Fraser to Wakey might be a little more tight.
