NCR are out of the cup. MIR won 3-4 in extra time.

Rapa dealt comfortably to Tawa, 2-0 final score. Tawa never in with a shout, and scoreline would have been bigger if not for the terrible conditions.

Also Enzo and Salmon07 are there and will be tweeting. Follow #ChathamCup and #NCRvMAR

Got to meet Enzo briefly ...but we were both transfixed on the action. Cup games at Bluewater are always worth the admission.

This is rubbish, I saw you at this game and you spent most of the time eating hot chips or on your phone, tweeting, texting or tindering so I don't think your opinion has much weight here.

Rapa the better team and deserved to win but thought Tawa put up a good showing and made Rapa work hard for their win. Error from  Tawa keeper after 3 mins gave Rapa a tap in  but after that Tawa really should have scored at least twice with a couple of poor misses . Rapa hit crossbar and went close also. Rapa better team in second half and scored an excellent goal to seal the game. Tawa denied a clear penalty late in the game , not helped the referee was still on half way.

2 goal victory probably a fair reflection of game but 4-2 was probably a better reflection. Both teams tried to play and I enjoyed it given the constant rain, which I will agree certainly would have helped the home side.

Well deserved win to North Welly

yup deserved win, but score flattered a little and did not really reflect what was a pretty closely contested match. Certainly felt though that Upper Hutt had the upper hand just before NW scored the third from the spot.

If UH managed an equaliser they may have gone on with the job. Not to be though.

Fair post I would say. Don't think many at North Wellington would disagree either. At least not the honest ones.

So Patrick says that "Rapa had a comfortable 2 goal win" then you say "that's rubbish...a 2 goal victory was probably a fair reflection of the game"

Huh?

Also what Patrick was doing was live tweeting the game, you know, to give it coverage. But sure, slag him off.

Tawa had 2 penalty shouts late in the game, the first and loudest was a slip\fall in the box by a Tawa player and happened in front of the referee, the second about 2 minutes later looked like it should have been a pen to me, but I think the ref may have allowed for the conditions and waved play on (he was about 15 meters away, nothing like on half way like you say)

Given the conditions both teams actually played some decent football. Tawa played well but while the had a couple of half chances they never really looked like scoring. If it had been a fine day I think Rapa would have run riot over them

Home safe from BlueWater Stadium.

If you splice all the Twitter by time you get about 1/3 of the game today.

2011 - I did the trip - 5 nil to NCR-  This time the ball fell 50/50 for 120'

Well that scoreline would have been a fair reflection of the game, so lets just go with that instead.

I'm just hoping that my club (who got knocked out the weekend) will be the token club who gets into the next round by mistake...

It's happened twice before.

If they do it again it will be Upper Hutt City as it seems to happen to teams that lose 5-1!

Here's my piece on NCR v Miramar for anyone interested. Got a few good pics of the big moments but sadly most of my celebration photos were out of focus. Too many fancy stands in the background at Park Island (couldn't have been the operator's fault) ARGH!!!! :-)

I imagine the Rapa v Miramar game will be on a Sunday - they usually are anyway.

Wish I could guess Lotto numbers  as well as I had the local draw right.
