they will be having their weekly friday lunchtime vodka to talk over what can be played with grounds we have been given. at this stage it looks as though there will be minimal games played and hope we can have information available to people sometime this afternoon.

Capital 1, but the grounds are going to be a complete shambles. And if that storm comes through tomorrow, it's going to be a total joke. Especially when we are playing AFTER a game thats on at 12:30, what a freaking joke

there wont be any ground that will have two games on the one pitch so that is one less worry.

all the hard work that is done today to re arrange fixtures can go out the window over night and that could be the case if we do get hit with the weather that is forecast.

just junior footy in Welly at the moment? I'd expect all the lower senior grades will be cancelled, say 5 downwards.

I picking about seven games over the top 3 grades, i'm picking the games involving Miramar, Wests, Olympic v LH in CL, Cap prem. LH, Marist v Tawa, Waterside and Cap 1 Waterside these are the teams that have games in hand and need to catch up. If these games are played should be some good viewing and good crowds with all the other games off.

Nothing's been postponed up here..........at the moment.

Apparently I'm apathetic, but I couldn't care less.

Think they might still be on Buff. It's about midday tomorrow the weather's supposed to turn to crap.

I was appointed to ref a youth game last Saturday and, just as I was about to leave, the Ref Appts Officer rang me (about something else) and told me my game was postponed. When I rolled up to the ground for our NRFL game, there was my youth game in full swing. Something about left hands and right hands not knowing what they're doing!!

Apparently I'm apathetic, but I couldn't care less.

Now that everyone's got some free time on Saturday/Sunday why not drop a line to the council asking them why we can't have more artificial pitches coming on line sooner.

If even 20% of the players and/or parents of players who are cancelled this weekend sent them an email they would have around 2,000 emails on the subject by Monday morning.

They more noise they hear about it the better and the easier it makes it for them to justify spending the money.

I agree. Desperately needed. Our grounds cant handle the pressure on them at the best of times, let alone a winter like this. Some grades have been cancelled half a dozen times this season. A bunch of astroturfs could take care of multiple social grades. Playing on astroturf has to be better than playing in mud or not playing at all.
