Tawa and Uni are definitely the best 2 teams in the league. What does last nights results do for the 3rd place and relegation race?
Olympics 2nd goal was offside but there are no linesmen in our grade so you cant really put your arm up and hope for the call, we all should have learnt by now that its better to be safe than sorry with the offside rule in capital 2. Olympic played alot better in the 2nd half and did enough to get the result, a shame Stop Out couldn't capitilize on a good 1st half performance and put a couple in the back of the net. Good game of football though I must say...

For third place, Stop Out are 1 point ahead of the Gossies with two games to go each.  Wellington United are four points off third.  Stop Out have Tawa Bulldogs and Uni Firsts to play, while I think the Gossies have Tawa and Seatoun.

Great brekdown Mossman. 3rd place will be a great fight then as both the Gossies and Stop Out have a top 2 team and a bottom 4 team to play.
Waikanae will have a tough time beating Olympic judging by the team they fielded last night, they definitly had a bit of help from above which would suggest they do want to stay in this league and will be prepared to send down some players to do that which is fair enough. The table below suggests Olympic dont have any catch up games?
All in all, a great season in capital 2 this year really! Good times!

Tawa Bulldogs with another win... What a great finish to the season they have had to easily avoid relegation in the end, have they been streetching the regrdade rule to the max?

We were missing 5 regulars from the firsts and about 6 or 7 from the Gossies, but should be back to full strength for next week. Not an excuse though, we weren't good enough yesterday and Stop Out took the chances they had. Only bright side was our striker notching his 22nd goal of the season.

Second time you have had a dig at the Bulldogs so had to comment. Who do you play for, since you think we are so rubbish so we can all critique your team?

We have had 5 wins, 2 draws and 1 loss in our last 8 matches. That's due to playing to our potential and our young players coming on strongly and playing well. One player from Central League has played a few games for us when he hasn't been playing for the 1sts, and all within the rules.

Bulldogs haven't been stretching the rule at all, only had 1 first team player play a handful of games but in general have just had a much better second round, as in the first round they had losses by 1 goal or draws. They have just started to take there chances

Maybe he tried out for the Bulldogs pre season and didn't make the cut...?

Wow, struck a bit of a cord with the Tawa B lads aye.... Sheesh lads take it easy, was only a question. A fair enough question I thought, generally in this league when a team who isn't a 1st team has a storming 2nd half of the year, they have had a bit of help from teams above.

Cap 2 could be a nightmare next year if Waikanae stay up.

Teams do get better (and worse) during the season. Wellington United also started off the season poorly and then have had a stellar run up until a couple of weeks ago. Perhaps they have been stacking as well (which of course they haven't)? Upper Hutt must have been doing the opposite after their great start to the season as they are now in relegation danger.

"Scoring that many goals in a season would be an achievement for that team" is more than just a question, it's a smart-ass comment.

Or a bonus for those of us out on the sunny kapiti coast!

Was talking specifically about this quote from me when I said it was only a question so not sure why you have dragged something off a previous page that had nothing to do with the question that was asked? which I still feel was a fair enough question.

I am in the Stop Out team, feel free to say what you like about us, Im not gonna take offence and have a cry. If we had come from quite far back and won the league, I'm sure there may have been some people wondering weather we had been using the re-grade rule to its maximum.

Well Done Tawa for winning the league - The only team we couldn't get points off this year

We started of well, but didn't score our first goal until about 20 minutes into the match. Then 3 minutes later we were suddenly 3-0 up. Uni carried on fighting and we gave them a slight sniff when we had a player sent off with about 25 to go. The Gossies scored shortly after that, but we restored our 3 goal advantage with 15 minutes remaining.

We went three nil up in the first half, then Welly Utd got two quickly at the start of the second (one a pretty ropey penalty). We held out and maybe could have snuck another but it wasn't to be. Pretty good battle.

Paekakariki pulling out this year, we couldnt get enough people who wanted to start the whole training thing... Good luck all

Don't know too much about the quality of the other teams but

United are a much younger team this year, bit of a change up from previous years. I think some of the older guys are moving on to masters.

Just got word a 12 man United got up 5-4 over Waikanae out there. The boys were short this week and had a couple 40+ guys kit up so huge result for them.

Great match up between Upper Hutt and Gossies yesterday.

We went over to Villa and managed to sneak one in before half time to make it 1-0, came out 2nd half and put away two goals quickly to make it seem comfortable but we took the pedal off and Villa credit to them came back strongly and got a bit of luck to create two nicely taken goals. Watch out for the pitch over there - not bad but I'm pretty sure its only about 40m wide makes for some rather congested play.
