No problem, straight back up next year

We (BNU) said that at the start of the year, nek minit 2 points from the entire season... lol

IMO Cap 4 is every bit as strong as Cap 3, but best of luck for 2012.

I scored 14 in 15 games for IBU in a decent Cap 4 this year, but was told at the start of the season by your second team coach I wasn't going to be needed (after training with you guys for a month) and I should find another club. Turned out you needed a consistent goal-scorer... I hope your talent scouts have improved.

Great strike rate.

I can't comment on how the team was run and selected last season as I wasn't involved but we are structuring the Reserve and 3rd teams in a different way this season with a big focus on devleopment of younger players and obviously a big push by the 1st team to win Wgtn Div 1.

I'm going to be involved with the Reserves & the Development squad this coming season and I can promise that with a strike rate like you have you wouldn't be told to find another club

The next few seasons are going to see some significant developments at Nth Wgtn both on and off the pitch so the Club can get to where it should be in relation to it's size (23 senior teams last season).

If djtim is who i think he is, he was easily the hardest player to defend against in Cap 4.

Interesting that all the goals you did score, maybe your Island Bay team needed more defense? Good strike rates though

If Nth Wgtn are down to Cap 4, does that mean IBUnited are joining Devils and BNU in Cap 5 as well?

From what I understand, the relegation happens all the way down the grades. If you ended up 8th in cap 3, down. 8th cap 4, down...and so on. Only way to make room is for this to happen

Wellington Utd getting promoted for Palmy Nth Marist in Central League means there is an extra spot in the Wellington leagues.

Therefore North Wellington should be safe, as should all the other 8th place teams from Cap4 below and 9th place teams from Cap2 above. That's assuming that the Horowhenua winner isn't entering Cap3 as well.

Masterton are entering Cap 3, so 3 teams will be relegated (article on previous page)

Yeah but since Wellington United got promoted that means that only 1 team would be relegated from each grade if my understanding of the rules is correct. The same thing has happened in prior years. Therefore with Masterton entering Cap 3 that would mean that 2 teams will be relegated from Cap3 downwards. If Wellington hadn't got promoted, then yes it would be 3 relegated from each grade Cap 3 and below.

Can anybody confirm that. why would they get promoted when they didn't finish top 2

I think someone pulled out of Cap 2 cause the Armani's have been asked to move up to Cap 2 so I guess they've come up from Cap 4.

Hi All,

Paekakariki are not entering a team this year. We got promoted to Capital 2 due to a fantastic first season last year but unfortunately due to the step up meaning we would have to do some form of training most of our players were not up for it!

Good luck to everyone this year.

I Agree with AJ13, you guys are good enough to play Cap 2.

Unlucky 'here we come'. However it does make it cheaper for us to play in this league as we will not require an 'away trip' when we play Wai united.

So are Paikak pulling out all together or just not taking the promotion position in Cap 2?

Unfortunate really - that's one less pub crawl we get to do this year.

Or does it have something to do with not being able to put a team together!

I'd say so - you don't train for Cap2!

I know for a fact they couldn't get enough players. So why not just say so.

Does that mean that Petone 3rd team will go back into Cap 3?

No, I understand Wairarapa United take the spot in capital 3

Wairarapa United ended up third in Cap 4 last year. They have taken this opportunity to come up to Cap 3. Doesnt the Armanis go into Cap 2 now? or have they not made the move?

Have Masterton and Rapa played each other pre-season?
Permalink Permalink
about 14 years ago · edited over 13 years ago
Not at all. Some of the Wairarapa united players have played against us for another team, and I have played for Wairarapa united against upper Hutt last weekend to make up numbers but we haven't played each other. And why would we? We play them twice during the season so no point playing each other. We have been playing some of the teams that supplied us with squad players, to help them along with their squads

All the best for all the teams today. All the hard work pre-season has now come together, and we all hope we get the results we are looking for

Big ups to the Armani's yesterday. Good footy played and deserved winners. And an update on our right back who went off with the shoulder injury. He has broken his collar bone, and will be going under the knife to have a couple of plates and screws installed. Shame for the young fella, who only came into our squad this year. Never mind, that's footy. Thanks to the petone club for the hospitality too.

Funny how Armanis are supposed to be Petones 4th team
