If i were you Id take it. From what ive seen this season there isnt much between Cap 6/Cap 4. And Cap 3 is hardly any stronger either. Look at it this way, youre going to end up there eventually, you may as well fast track it.

Nice win for the Elite on Saturday.  5-0 over LH, first time we have ever beaten those guys!!!

Naenae beating NWV has made the promotion race a bit more interesting.

Was a tough game yesterday.  We struggled a bit.  I think the hard turf is a bit rough on the old bodies!  I sprained my ankle so potentially will be out for a week or two.

old bodies???
who are you talking about pretzel???

Old bodies?  Mine!  I'm not playing this weekend after injuring myself on the turf!

Pretzel - heard any more on a move to Cap4?

Only that it isn't happening for a few weeks now. Just means it makes even less sense.  We are happy as it means with two wins we can win the league.  Would have been disappointing to end the season having not won the league.

Wests haven't done as well since you old fellows moved....maybe Cap 7 is a good place to stay until the old fullas come back

so why should they get to jump to Cap4?

Probably shouldn't get to, but apparently Capital Football have received 6 letters of complaint from teams Wests have played.  Thats quite alot considering its only an 8 team grade.
I don't know how much of all this is true, as we were told it was happening this week but its not.  We shall see.

Wests with a 4-2 win over North Wellington today.  If Uni didn't win then that secures the league.

Anyone know the result in the Elite vs Uni game?  Chrispy??

Yeah mate,
3-3 Elite and Uni.
Heaviest ground we have play on in a long time..  Pitch was terrible.  I think both teams were stoked they still have an artifiical cricket pitch in the middle of the field to give everyone a breather..
Don't think we ever played from behind but couldn't get all 3 points...

Ha ha!  Nice work!  I wouldn't say that you helped us, but you certainly made it happen a week earlier than we thought!

True.. Anyway glad to see you got up over Nth Wgtn, thought you guys may have been missing a few of the guys that went to Champs Prem

Yeah, none of our premier players played, not even any of the subs.  Had to call in a couple of masters players as well as a couple of under 21s.  The boys did well though.  That North Wellington team has fallen away last few weeks though.

Promoted and relegated in the same year?

Elite lost 2 nil to Nth Wellington today.  Full credit to them they played some fairly attractive football considering the conditions and deserved the points.

1st run on the new wakefield park and it is quality.  Felt sorry for the lads running around on wakefield 4 or whatever it is.

back in the win column for Lower Hutt finally. same score as the first leg between us and miramar, 5-3. technically we can still stave off relegation if results go our way, but with the small matter of wests between us and a result it will have to be a miraculous escapemw4liverpool2011-07-23 20:17:03

Emotional scenes at Fraser Park as Lower Hutt are finally condemned to relegation via a dramatic Western Suburbs come back. Lower Hutt led at half time 3 - 1 and we thought a potential great(est) escape was on the horizon. But alas was not to be as we ended the game losing 3 - 5 with a quick three goals at the start of the second half. Even if we did win however, we needed to rely on Miramar who didn't win so I suppose it would have been worse if we had beaten Wests and didn't stay up!

Looking forward to the end of season cup though, bring it on!

Missing all our premier players!  Yesterday was awful.  Terrible pitch, windy, and the ref was a bit of a knob.  Not his fault we only won by 2 but just thought i'd add that in there.

I think the biggest issue is that yesterday we went out needing 11 goals to get the 100 and guys got greedy and stopped passing it.  I hear recruitment is already underway for next season though.

Well our game on the weekend was weird...Dom Rogerson came on and had some 'discussions' with a Tawa player. After a few minutes of talk between the lads, the Tawa coach walks on the field and calls his team off! Maybe 10 minutes left in the game? Biggest sooky since Karori Normal School 1985

This is a reporting total beat up, where the reporter who witnessed it was I'm not sure, he certainly was not watching the game totally. I was there watching the SV/BNU game too. How this reporter could give such a graphic account beats me.

The brawl certainly didnt last 10 minutes.

I think the protaganists are more the NW Varsity team, from what I saw they were moaning and groaning about any little incident that happened whether it was a foul or not, right from the start, NWV seem to be a niggly outfit very excitable I think could be best describe it. Maybe NWV need to look at themselves.

Sure the game was reffed by a SV guy but NWV had plenty on their side ie subs who could have also helped out.

From what i got from a SVKB player I know, the matches between these 2 teams are always fracious, maybe others in this grade might have the same problem.

Thats my opinion and I'll state again this story is a total beat up, and certainly didnt require a quote from John Morrison and certainly didnt require full blown headlines on Page 3, and whoever the reporter is from the other game, get a grip mate, get your facts straight and right and lets have some balanced reporting.

Any team that calls themselves the Killer Bees needs to take a look at themselves

uhfan..

Do you know what the North Wellington teams side of the story is?
Because that post seemed like a bit of a North Wellington beat up and was pretty one sided.
A bit like the story?Stefan2011-08-09 11:32:07

About 4 years ago and maybe later the Killer Bees had to have an Official Ref for all their games, seems they may have to again.

A few minutes of talk, wests were full of dirty challenges which your ref never saw, but when a tawa player did something you didn't like u all cried about how terrible it was. The game got called because your defender decided general banter wasn't good enough for him so he would start with some personal comments towards players.

Thats not the case at all, Ive played for the Killer Bees for the past 5-6 seasons and we have never had a season when we have had to have a ref assigned to us for all of our games.

We have however, requested refs for games against certain teams.

Unfortunately I wasnt at the game on Saturday, so I am unable to comment about what happened. Anything I could add would just be Hearsay.

I can vouch for Killer Bees when they played in Div 8 (about 3 years ago). they were tough and committed, but never dirty.
a bit lippy yes, but not dirty

I don't know who you are anonymous but thats the biggest load of rubbish i've heard.  I played for tawa the last 4 seasons and it was clear that some of the tawa guys turned up saturday with their usual 'we hate wests attitude'.  We were 5-1 up before any of the verbal started, after a 50/50 challenge between your headbanded dude and one of our centre backs.  Your left back, Paul Leman, then started threatening to knock our players out.  Comments like that take things to a whole new level, and i'd suggest that if a proper ref had heard it then the player may have been sent off or at least carded.

I would be embarrased if my team got dragged off the field because the coaches son got called a t**ser.  And certainly some of the Tawa lads did look embarrased about it.  It was absolutely ridiculous.

I'm sorry Stefan you seem to have taken my comments to heart.

What I said re the NWV team was purely an observation on my part. I have no axe to grind over either team.

My main gripe is the over sensationalism of the situation by the Dompost, there are only quotes from the NW side which would appear to sensationalise things even more, this doesnt help.

Anyway they were MY observations others may differ. But again I state my main point, this situation DID NOT warrent what was printed or implied in the Dompost.

Brawling is bread and butter stuff for oval code. When you soccer guys hit the newspaer, you hit it BIG. Proof that you guys are more like our oval code players and just remember that at the end of the day, just do not end up in the dock for common assault. It is just simply not worth it. It is just a game and enjoy it! Perhaps some of you should be hauled in front of a real judge and be docked.

I feel like starting up a good news thread in which players can highlight random acts of fairplay and kindness...
