I think someone is feeding you yarns.

No doubt.  But would be good for all concerned if they weren't.

Surely they would consider it half way if the results continue like this?

Exactly my thoughts. Wests are the kind of club who need a team in at least Cap 3 or higher. I live in Whitby, played all my junior footy for Wests, but currently play for BNU, and I know quite a few other players in the 'Wests catchment area' who only play for clubs in wellington and the hutt purely due to the lack of depth out this way...  I went to BNU in 2004 because:

A: Being a born and bread Wests player, I hated Tawa, so there was no way i was going out there...
B: i knew (at the time) i wouldnt make the Wests Cap Reserve squad, they were a really good squad at the time and already had alot of established players
C: Wests didnt have any other teams to play in outside of the reserves
D: BNU were newly promoted to Cap Prem and Cap Reserve so I went along in hope of some game time... success.

I really hope you guys get put up a few grades, youre far too good to be pissing around in the lower leagues, and theres so much talent out that this way its almost insulting that Wests dont have a 3rd squad higher than Cap 7.

I know for a fact that a few dudes out this way are following you guys fairly closely in hope of playing for you in the near future and boosting the rep out this way.

Pretzel and myself might lose our positions if more people come back

Wow, 10 goals per match so far for Western Suburbs team. Sounds like a total mismatch of rugby or cricket scores of total mismatch proportion!!!!

Had a closer game last night up at Te Whaea.  4 nil win to Wests over Wellington United.

I think Marist beat Miramar 1 nil in the match before us.

Funny how Wests deem 4-0 a close result. In any other league it would be seen as a fairly comprehensive victory haha

Still no goals, but yes, I did miss a difficult chance (not really that clear cut) last night.  Possibly similar to the Stokes Valley incident you remember so fondly.

Seatoun Div 16 thought the same but got to div 15 at year end. Big jump. Still Div 15 this year but will make div 14 for 2nd round. ( News from the valley)

A good 5 - 0 win for Lower Hutt vs the Wellington United Elite. We only had 10 men and they were top blokes and gave us one of their subs, who went on to assist our first goal!

Both side had chances that we could have put away but Lower Hutt dominated the majority of the game and it was good to get a win after our slump. We showed some good bouncebackability (good word) and it was good to get my first clean sheet of the season

and how exactly would this work?

re: and how exactly would this work?

I wouldv thought it is dependant on a higher grade team that is getting spanked every game agreeing to swap mid season..

A similar thing happened in our old grade cap 9 two seasons ago - a new team was getting whipped by everyone.  They swapped near the half way point with a div 14 team or something.

unless there is an obvious mis match to swap with though im not sure how it could happen without mucking up other divs.

pretty rare that a team would want to drop themselves down - then what right to they have to choose who they swap with?

Can't see it happening as all grades above us are 10 team grades where as we are only 8 so they will finish at different times. Also no other teams above us are getting convincingly beaten week in week out.

Yeah I cant see them skipping grades either, once they get to about Cap 5 the huge results wont be as common.

Yeah that was me who ended up playing for your team during the first half.  Was way to sporting from our team..

That assist got me fined big time in post match..

We were rubbish and was by far was our worst performance of the year and we got what we deserved.  We were missing a few players but that was no excuse.

Top of the table clash out at Endeavour ended Western Suburbs 4 - 2 North Wellington.

Was 2 all at half time after North Wellington really pressured us in the first half.  Second half alot more one sided.  Was an enjoyable game all round.

Elite smashed 5 nil by a slick raiders outfit who no doubt must have benefited from a couple of cancellations from grades above. Again we were missing some key players but thats par for the course.

Back to the drawing board...

we were easily beaten 5-1 by marist after the transfer from fraser to the mudpit that is awakairangi.  could/should have been 7 or 8 really, we were rubbish.

If this happens it would likely be an 11 team league with a bye every round, and then grades re-adjusted for 2012.

Either way, im not sure what you guys would look like on the table, how many points etc...

should be a straight swap brooklyn for wests.

By the sounds it would be an 11 team league with a bye round, and we can't win any points, but I personally don't really see the point in that.  I guess we'll just wait and see.

It was put to the team yesterday.  Apparently if we didn't take the oppurtunity now we would only be in Cap 6 next year - like a one time offer.

Is a few of your team still playing Champs Prem or would they be dropping back down?

How'd you guys go yesterday anyway? 4-2 close game?

5 of us still either coaching or playing premier league.  Some of us will play for the Cap 7 side when we get the chance though, like yesterday.
Was a tough game yesterday.  We struggled a bit.  I think the hard turf is a bit rough on the old bodies!  I sprained my ankle so potentially will be out for a week or two.
