I'm sorry Stefan you seem to have taken my comments to heart.

What I said re the NWV team was purely an observation on my part. I have no axe to grind over either team.

My main gripe is the over sensationalism of the situation by the Dompost, there are only quotes from the NW side which would appear to sensationalise things even more, this doesnt help.

Anyway they were MY observations others may differ. But again I state my main point, this situation DID NOT warrent what was printed or implied in the Dompost.

He probably just saw another great opportunity to get another football violence story in the paper. Hasn't been a very positive year for football in the papers.

Well our game on the weekend was weird...Dom Rogerson came on and had some 'discussions' with a Tawa player. After a few minutes of talk between the lads, the Tawa coach walks on the field and calls his team off! Maybe 10 minutes left in the game? Biggest sooky since Karori Normal School 1985

A few minutes of talk, wests were full of dirty challenges which your ref never saw, but when a tawa player did something you didn't like u all cried about how terrible it was. The game got called because your defender decided general banter wasn't good enough for him so he would start with some personal comments towards players.

I don't know who you are anonymous but thats the biggest load of rubbish i've heard.  I played for tawa the last 4 seasons and it was clear that some of the tawa guys turned up saturday with their usual 'we hate wests attitude'.  We were 5-1 up before any of the verbal started, after a 50/50 challenge between your headbanded dude and one of our centre backs.  Your left back, Paul Leman, then started threatening to knock our players out.  Comments like that take things to a whole new level, and i'd suggest that if a proper ref had heard it then the player may have been sent off or at least carded.

I would be embarrased if my team got dragged off the field because the coaches son got called a t**ser.  And certainly some of the Tawa lads did look embarrased about it.  It was absolutely ridiculous.

HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA god this is classic, shall we try get some bites on Tawa Afc's fb page?

the old 2nd teamers still love you pretz, despite you costing us THAT season.

Yup I wasn't happy we were dragged, it was going both ways (well mainly Paul Leman from Tawa) but i guess their comes a line and it was stepped over, also with Wests dominating and Tawa playing like a bunch of girls didn't help.

But some of your guys really had the carrot stuck up their @#$ and were spoiling for a fight, things were happening before that incident ie the dude only the ground who decided it was a good idea to hack my brothers ankles because he couldn't get to the ball, but didn't like the favour being returned, next thing your player is up in his face trying to pick a fight.

I can't speak for the rest of the tawa team, but several times after i collected the ball i was on the receiving end of something extra. Its only natural to assume it was happening to those on the field too, so I guess there comes a point where players get sick of it.

I have to laugh how the natural reaction to things these days is to put it on facebook. Maybe someone could make a page about this...

yeah, niggly stuff was happening out on the pitch, but both teams were doing it (including Tawa players chasing down and hacking at wests ankles).  I remember you getting shouldered a couple of times but I don't think it was malicious at all - probably more our immobile players not being able to move.  Don't recall you moaning about it so you must have not thought much of it at the time?

Either way, both teams got a bit silly towards the end but none of it warranted the overreaction of your coach in dragging the team.

Re you comment about our guys spoiling for a fight, I think you are way off the mark there.  If you knew the guys in our team you'd know none of them would be looking for that.

Your mum on the sideline didn't help the situation much either.....

Pretzel, age is definitely creeping up on you. When you slow down a bit more, you can play for Chelsea or Man U.

Im just going to add one little point here. I don't think that comment of spoiling for a fight is that far off, the west guy that tried busting my ankle kept saying "you better hope you don't get the ball". Then i got the ball, passed it off and got cleaned out from behind, when i got up off the ground he had a big smile on his face.

Even you would have to agree that's not what someone wanting a friendly game would say.

Yeah niggly stuff happens, sometimes you just deal with it. But after a point you get sick of it and thats when things change, i guess i hadn't reached that point yet whereas some had. And if you give it out you must prepared to take. From my perspective I'm pretty sure he wasn't going for a chat and he was trying to make something of it.

Mum just a passionate one eyed supporter, what more can you say

I can see this quickly moving to a "you did this, you did that" so i'm just going to leave it at that

That's the benefit of playing on the wing lads. Don't have to do any tackling. I was having a yarn with the tawa guy I was marking so was a bit surprised when it all turned ugly...........ANYWAY what is the format for the next few games? The winner from one group plays the winner of the other?

Yup, if it's the same as last couple of years, along with the second teams playing each other, 3 v 3 and so on.  Some of the lower grades they have mixed up two different grades into Top 4 v Top 4 and Bottom 4 v Bottom 4 cup competitions.

C'mon boys its football not tiddlywinks ( ala tana umaga !!)....if a strong tackle from centre back started it all I better put my hand up then.....I thought this was a mens league !?!?!...guess my shoulder musta been a bit bigger than his..50/50s are part of the game..up till paul leman started crying it was a good game....
If you all think a team full of 40 sumthings are out looking for a fight on a saturday you are watching the wrong club!!!!...why would we wanna fight when we beat most teams by six or seven every week ..tawa included...our 100 goals target for the season were reached by us  on saturday!!!!
Tawa afc needs to look at their coach and have a quiet word with him....never in 25 years have I been in a game called off coz of a bit of banter between 2 teams..I mean at the end of the day its only a kick around on a saturday in a pretty average league and if  the tawa team HAD come up to the clubrooms I'm sure everyone woulda had a laugh about it all over a beer or two !!!...Well maybe not coach T.Osser and his missus !!!
Tawa good luck for your remaining games...lets hope you can play out the 90....
