Why Feverish, its fun cause they bite back.

Huttboy, I was a Wests junior back in the days when the Tawa club didnt exist. (Also Grant Willaims was at more than 1 club and your comment is in bad taste to those he did victimise)

Footballmad, North Wellington is closer to Tawa than than Endevour. Just because they are ex tawa pupils dosent mean they didnt play juniors at Wests. Also many of the old timers around the club (ie Don Fenton) are ex Wests.

so because they moved from wests to tawa it makes them wests rejects???... or does it simply mean that they moved to better things? with people like calcott around its a wonder they have anybody still at wests

I've got no problem with Tawa at all.  I was just havin a larf. It's a good club. Shame about Redwood Park tho. But I can't see what the problem with Calcott is. He's done well.

Interesting comments...i am a Tawa player, been at this club for quite a while now. Tawa as we all know doesnt have the best pitch at times, but thats a given. Facilities and clubrooms are all good. I am quite disapointed in the lack of people at most clubs after matches, Tawa nearly always has a full house and good atmosphere.

As for players, the club are basically all from tawa juniors or tawa college. 4 or 5 ex west boys in the first team (3 of them from tawa college), but hey most clubs get some players from other clubs from time to time.

As for old timers...Don Fenton is at the club, and a good lad is he!But you will find that we have plenty of "Tawa" old timers as well. Actually Don would be the only Wests old timer....good decision on his part, he can actually have a beer after a game now and not be frowned at

Anyways this is a Cap 3 forum, so lets talk about that.

Tawa, Upper Hutt and Kapiti, who will win it???

tawa to win, upper hutt to come 2nd

Ok on to more important matters, i don't like to bag refs but all i can say about ours today was incompetant arsehole ruined a nice sunny day out at the football for two teams coz he want a c**t. If a couple of players want to pull some handbags out then warn em, and give em cards if it persists. DONT CALL OFF THE F**KING GAME COZ U CANT HANDLE THE JOB. im not gonna tell u who he was coz i don't wana make it personal but u ruined the day. It had been sunny all week and im sure everyone was looking forward to having sum fun and to have it taken away but such a twat is just not on.

Ok when i settle down i might come back and tell you about the little game that we did play, or oranje or swandry or old b can tell you

Yeah game was a joke. Lower Hutt were up 1 nil and the game was abandoned by ref just before halftime. Cap football rules state:

"Any match abandoned for any reason shall be reported immediately to the Manager.   This responsibility lies with the Referee, if present, or the Home team.   After considering the facts, the Manager may decide that

a) the score at the time of the abandonment shall stand, or

b) the match will be re-scheduled to another date."

Both teams need the points so hopefully the game can be replayed. I was worried both teams could be awarded no points but this isn't stated in the rules above. Would be a bit of a joke if the result stood since not even half a game was played.

In terms of what happened to get the game called off, there was a lot of shoving going on but not much else. A couple of alleged incidents but without seeing these, not sure what happened. The ref only saw pushing though. Don't see how the ref could have abandoned the game based on this. The ref got both teams separated so I thought a stern talking to both captains was in order. Instead he abandons the match!

Onto the actual match, was an even affair up until the match being called off. Lower Hutt scored a pen after around 30mins. Tawa had a couple of good chances but couldn't finish them off. Lower Hutt had a couple of alright young players playing for them as well as Scott Easthope doing a good job controlling centre mid.

.. also to add to the tawa v lower hutt result...
it seems lower hutt were playing an ineligible player, Andrew Pattison, who had recieved a red card for the lower hutt 2nd team the week before... does that not mean that regardless of the match being abandoned, that when the kick off whistle blew that lower hutt started the match knowingly playing an illegal player?... hence tawa should be awarded a 2 nil victory by default?

A Good game betwen Karori and BNU today no goals as both keepers pulled some greatsaves today to keep it 0-0, Karori keeper pulled off a blinding save from a BNU free kick. 0-0 a fair result and should keep both teams safe.

Of course thats what happened when Olympic played a suspended CL player earlier this season wasnt it?  Clubs should not get with with that if that is what in fact happened. nightz2009-08-09 20:01:49

I'm wondering what the assssor who was at the match had to say about the refs decision. With only approx 2 mins till half time surely the ref could had got the capitains to settle their teams down. I've seen way worse than that this season, it was more verbal that physical with just a little pushing (the alleged head butt didnt connect from what I could see). The ref could have used his cards better earlier in the game I thought.

The captain of Lower Hutt's finger did get stomped but speaking with some of our players about this it was apparently an accident from one of our players.  The Lower Hutt player fouled a Tawa player and the Lower Hutt player was then on the ground trying to play the ball from memory.  One of our other players came running in trying to challenge for the ball and stomped on his finger.  I was quite close to the incident and saw challenging for the ball and then the Lower Hutt player complaining.  Will never know if it was intentional or not, but the Lower Hutt player seemed to be cool about the incident after the match.

In terms of the headbutt, I didn't see this and don't know what happened at all.  But Nightz seems to have a good understanding of the incident.

All in all, the match was not that bad and should never have been called off.

the word "stomping" makes it sound pretty bad really.... Talking to the tawa player involved, it was a genuine accident that he stood on the lower hutt players hand

being so close to half time, no punches thrown, hardly any pushing either it seems rather strange that the game would get called off for being out of control... The fact that both teams went and shook hands when the ref called the game off shows that the game could have quite easily gone on....

Prior to the game, lower hutt had asked if it was alright to kickoff early due to a large number of their players playing for both their 3rd and 2nd teams on the day. They seemed happy the game had been called off as they then rushed off to get to their next game

Dunno if its true or not but a story from the sidelines was that a lower hutt guy mentioned to the ref to call it off so the ref did. LH were only iterested in getting to the game against our firsts.
As for the stomping, if the tawa player is going for the ball and gets the guys finger then one has to ask why the guy had his hand so close to the ball with his fingers exposed.

Agreed a pretty even game between BNU and the Cougars on the weekend. Have to give a massive thanks to Josh our stand in keeper, who came up from the Div 7 Aces  and played an absolute blinder.

What will happen with the Tawa LH game now? Do LH default for playing an ineligble player? Could have some implication for the Cougars if the game gets replayed and LH win, would tighten things up at the bottom of the table.

The capital soccer rules are very clear - play an ineligble player and 2-0 to the other team
 - I was talking to a couple of Tawa guys and they played Kapiti last week up there - Lower Hutt seconds playing after them and a few of Tawa boys stayed around and watched first half - couple of Lower Hutt boys sent off and they turn out for down the grades on Saturday - against who - Tawa - the team who was watching them the week before....caught red handed....even heard there was a  photograper who got pictures of the player concerned
