Kapiti gave the Rapa a lesson in how to score goals today, we went down 4 nil, yet again we decide to start a game with a weaker side then wait til we go three down before making changes and playing our strongest side, roll on next week, bring back Steele, I'm over goalkeeper.

Point out the bit that shows contempt??? He said "hop ya beat upper hutt" indicating he hoped you (bnu) beat upper hutt. This means he doesn't play for BNU otherwise he would have said "we". From what i know there is no ill feeling between the two clubs.

the "!" mark showed it. otherwise a "." would suffice. but then again it's purely gramatical, one can draw their own interpretation, or in my case, maybe "mis"-interpretation of ill-feeling towards u.hutt, seeing as the writer is a tawa lad.
    sorry if there ain't !!!!!

Who was the I.B keeper?? older guy with pony tail?? If not then there is your answer!!

He's always been a twat. So there's no suprise there. Hopefully he's gone for the season. Football doesn't need guys like him. Especially in Cap 3.

Ahhhh?????? something wrong here!!!! same guy????? hear he reff'd for C.F. while off!!! and nearly scored a couple of times against l.hutt., and they scored one after his shot was parried into the path of his team-mate!!!! yes he was playing in goal. the ref dropped his card wallet while sprinting to an incident, so he picked them up, gave the l.hutt player the red card and gave
the ref his wallet back.   lol lol lol
this guy sounds like he's got a sense of humour!! he's obviously passionate at times also!!! aren't we all at times????!!!!

read again and youll understand

[QUOTE=Oranje]
Early in the 2nd half Island Bay went up 2 nil through a great finish. After this we completely dominated though. We got a pen halfway through the half and after that had numerous chances. We couldn't manage to get the equaliser though. Island Bay's keeper had a great game and made a few great saves which stopped them giving up the lead.

Island Bay were some grizzling bast***s at the start of the game though. The game was transferred from Wakefield to Onepoto in Titahi Bay making it more of a home game for us. Straight away they moaned how they got transferred to this crap ground and asked us if we had nets. We said no it's your "home" game.   Then further moaning and they said they had no nets. We got some nets and the ref put them in Island Bay's changing rooms to put up. They refused so we had to put them up despite it not being our home game. Big ups to Island Bay's keeper for helping though. Maybe if Island Bay hadn't turned up with such a crap attitude things could have been a bit more civil

hey - maybe someone will know the answer to this.
Last fortnight when playing north wellington they had a penalty which was saved by our goalie but one of their players ran in before the ball was kicked and so the defending team got a free kick. i know this rule has changed..
but this week the same thing happened against another north wellington team but the ball went straight in.. and the ref said take it again. (there were some nth wgtn players from last week on the sideline.. offering their advice :-) )

1. penalty is taken and attacking player in box before taken and goal is saved then scored by an attacking player- defensive free kick?
2. penalty is taken and attacking player in box before taken and goal scored- defensive free kick?
3. penalty is taken and defending player in box before taken and goal scored - goal stands?
4. penalty is taken and defending player in box before taken and goal saved - take again?

I had discussions with a ref at the clubrooms and he said the rule had changed and if the attacking team fouls then its a defensive free kick.

ps - probably should be posted in another area but as there werent any results to talk about.

anyway - the end result on sat was the attacking team retook the penalty and hit the post and went out.. :-)

If the attacking team shoots - scores and they have a player in the box (before the kick) it is a retake
If the attacking teams shoots - keeper saves, they then score and have players in box before shot was taken its a defensive free kick.

That is the only time it is a freekick. Otherwise it is a re-take or the goal stands

Hi.
thats what we all thought.. but i have a different opinion from an offical referee..
i couldnt find any rules on the internet from either capital football or nz football.

he said it changed a few years ago to make things clearer.
He does make sense - why should the attacking team get another chance when they have fouled.?

you are right.. and the referree i spoke to was incorrect or maybe the beers i had were confusing things.
Infringements and Sanctions

If the referee gives the signal for a penalty kick to be taken

and, before the ball is in play, one of the following occurs:

the player taking the penalty kick infringes the Laws of the Game:

the referee allows the kick to be taken

if the ball enters the goal, the kick is retaken

if the ball does not enter the goal, the referee stops play and the match is

restarted with an indirect free kick to the defending team, from the place

where the infringement occurred

the goalkeeper infringes the Laws of the Game:

the referee allows the kick to be taken

if the ball enters the goal, a goal is awarded

if the ball does not enter the goal, the kick is retaken

a team-mate of the player taking the kick infringes the Laws of the Game:

the referee allows the kick to be taken

if the ball enters the goal, the kick is retaken

if the ball does not enter the goal, the referee stops play and the match is

restarted with an indirect free kick to the defending team, from the place

a team-mate of the goalkeeper infringes the Laws of the Game:

the referee allows the kick to be taken

if the ball enters the goal, a goal is awarded

if the ball does not enter the goal, the kick is retaken

a player of both the defending team and the attacking team infringe the Laws

of the Game:

 the kick is retaken

good stuff, if i wasn't confused i sure am now  lol.
only good thing to come out of this, is that keepers will get away with moving off line more often, cos focus from ref will be on players entering box hahaha.
difficult rule to police without AR's.

Big game this week with Kapiti playing Tawa. If Kapiti win the title is pretty much theirs, if it's a draw or Tawa win then it will keep the next few weeks interesting.

On another matter it will be interesting to see what happens with Upper Hutt's and Kapiti's teams over the next few weeks. As suggested in the Cap Premier forum, some 1st teams may start dropping down players to help their 2nd teams win promotion/avoid relegation since their 1st teams have nothing much to play for.

I'm sure Upper Hutt won't be bringing down any 1st teamers after complaining about other teams dropping players down mid-way through the season

nah kcu wont drop players thare all 4 tha unfair rule about how usual squad members get left out and might leave and not come back. its a gud thing tho clubs that drop players just kill the game in the lower leagues.

I think KCU and Upper Hutt have a strong enough teams without having to drop a whole bunch of players and Tawa are a team who will also do it on their own merits. They've all still all gotta play eachother so it's still anybody's to win or lose.

I think we should introduce a Capital 3 all star 11, anyone have an input,
4-4-2 formation, max of two players from a team,

got to be old bastard and neil wgtn both from Tawa at the heart of defence. Bring a lot of age and experience to the side (hope either of these two don't get angry with that comment when they see me)

dropping players down the grades, is the only way to attract depth to a club wishing to prosper.
if you can get teams in top 3-4 divs, the talent will come with the prospect of going up the grades if at 1st they can't, whilst still being able to play in a decent competetive league.
look no further than the mar & soon olympic
obviously if your club considers being loyal to those that have played all year, and if relegated ,
that's  their loss. I call it bad management, resulting in frustrated young talent usually going to greener pastures to further their career, weakening the clubs depth.

KCU & tawa clubs will both benefit from cap 2 and the depth it creates.

Pizda your comment about dropping players down grades implies that teams in say Cap 3 are reserve or 3rd XI's. Not all teams are like that, the Cougars certainly aren't, we've only ever had one player from a higher grade come play for us, and that was cos his grades was cancelled.

As for an all star cap 3 XI, my first choice would be that big bald headed striker from KCU, although he is out with a pretty serious injury apparently. He was easily the best player we've come up against. You can pretty much take your pick of defenders from the top three teams as well, they all seem to have the token old(er), big, bald dude at the back who dominates anything that comes his way.

you'll have to put the old i.bay keeper behind them to keep up the average age
what about the african boy from BNU up front with a couple of those fast wingers from U.Hutt.
KCU's  old defence has been rock solid all season lot of experiance there too.

cougars, i'm coming from a club's ideal point of view, it'd be in their best interests to get teams up, or to save them going down, like wests with their 2nd team.
in hindsight karori is one of those well established club's also, and is building in depth. which will make their chances of central league status a strong possibility.
in contrast look at the impending doom thats awaiting Wgtn Utd. when they had 2 great opportunities in consecutive seasons to promote their 2nd team to champs prem, they were
more concerned about 1st team getting revenge against L.Hutt for a previous 1-6 drubbing,
with nothing left to play for, they still lost!!!! now they're screwed for not investing in depth
and it shows.

Yeah - he was quality.  Unfortunately, the injury he picked up (assuming it's the same one) was very nasty - basically split his knee open down to the bone.  It was weird because it was a quite innocuous challenge - I slid in and got to the ball before him and he must've slid across the studs of my trailing foot.  Anyone who knows how I look after my boots would know that the studs are absolutely pristine - I don't even walk on the concrete in them because I don't want to rough them up.  It was just a freak accident.  Naturally, he was gutted as he was only just coming back from another injury apparently, but was totally cool about it despite his disappointment.

No result up for Tawa v Kapiti on cap football, but Tawa won 2-1. Was a great effort from the lads (Tawa) and definitely one of our better displays of the season. Fought hard throughout the whole match. We went up 1 nil after 10mins from a header off a corner. Kapiti equalised just before half time with a header from a free kick. We then got the winner with 20 to go after it bounced over the keepers head for us to finish off.

Not that many good chances on goal for either team during the match. Kapiti applied a lot of pressure at the end of the match but couldn't manage to get through the ever strong Tawa backline.

Tawa???  Who would have picked that??  Still only a point separating each of the top three.  Will be interesting to see what teams resort to bringing in first teamers to pleay for them when their teams have finished playing for the season.  Lower Hutt are always good like that to stay in the grade, however I believe it just shows how little faith the coach has in his squad.  Upper Hutt are too good a side to need to do it as are the Tawa and Kapiti teams.  I guess we'll see over the next few weeks.
