Holi shieza.

Maybe Mr. Calcott can feel the title grasp slipping from his fingers.

Either that or he had a brain explosion.

Just finished Wairarapa United training. Good solid training with both teams.  Surprises in squad selection for the weekend.  Had meeting after training and quite a few 1st team players away.  Looks like our 2nds will get a good run on Sunday.  I hope all you 2nd team members are up to the task of central league football as about 7 of us have been named in the 1sts for sunday.  Bugger. I had a function to go to on Saturday night. Might have to stay home!!!

Probably.  But at least some of our 2nds can say they have played a Central League game

I dont think that will matter.  If our 2nds struggle in Cap 3, how are they going to handle CL?

Olympic know that they will win so maybe them having an understrength squad will make it easier on us.

I wouldnt jump to any conclusions early there sonny jim.

As we have seen many times, its the team who shows up on the day that takes the spoils.

All i know is i can trust our boys to give it 100% and make a good run in this last stretch of the season.

not TSMA but play for Wairarapa. Things are all go for next year, currently having the issues with the ground resolved. I have been suprised by the support from the local community, with decent crowds at most of the games. Hopefully it continues next year

From what i can understand as steelo said, the ground issues are currently being resolved.  Seems like a positive group of guys that are involved in that CL level and hopefully for the club they stick around.  I can confidently say that Wairarapa United will be in CL next year 100%.  Maybe after sunday, some of my team could be in that mix. Depends how we go against Olympic.  It would be a good indication for the club on how individual players are coming along.  I know our 2nds haven't had the greatest year.  So we will box on.

Just reading the local rag about our 1sts being without Seule and Nick.  I am sure that those players were included in the starting lineup for sunday.  Jesus.  More and more 2nds drafted in to our 1sts.  Will make training interesting tomorrow. Hopefully if it is the case, we can utilise the players from the 2nds that actually have played a couple of times for the 1sts this year, otherwise it might be a problem!!!

TSMA, who's playing for your 2nds this week, is that why some players are'nt available for the 1st because they are playing for the 2nds?

A couple of players away and i think 1 is playing for the seconds.  Also think that some are away due to NZFC commitments and the risk of injury in a game that doesn't mean much to Wairarapa position in CL. Obvoiusly Seule has gone home and Nick has gone back to America for his university.  Also Phil is going to give some of the 2nds a run for the hell of it.  See where individual players are at and the progress they have made training with the 1sts and some of them have had CL game time.  Does leave the 2nds a bit short for saturday but we have run the whole season with the same problem so we will just carry on as usual.

Would you pay the default fees Uncle Steve? and if so isn't that considered match fixing?
Permalink Permalink

Ohh match fixing, good will...same thing.

Nice to know how the rapa will be lining up this weekend, but taking everything at face value really.

Who knows of your motives TSMA.

Might be pulling the wool over our eyes.

Who'll be in goal for you guys Uncle Steve, and has Nick VH been fined HEAVILY for missing this one?

Incredible stamina. No shame. Yellow Fever.

Olympic won 2-1 the second being a dicey pen with 20 to go Rapa down to 9 men at that stage

The kind of result that could only be achieved by a champion team in waiting.
Convincing and decisive. Now where's my bottle of Tui's ?

3 points is all that matters, especially with Olympic having 4 or 5 players missing. I think 22 games unbeaten tells a better story than todays result. Sets up the Wests game nicely.

If you think you can beat wests after not thrashing the 9 man Wairarapa United team, you are joking.  Not to mention the fact that the ref had a nightmare of a second half.  No way was the Oxtoby challenge a RED card after your midfeilder left 6 out of 8 of his sprigs half way up Oxtobys body, with no ruling from the ref.  absolute joke.  Of course, he dished out the cards, mainly against the WU team but a lot more should have been given to Olympic for just moaning about everything.  Especially Olympic's left half (13).  If your teams skills were as fast as your mouths, you would have won the league ages ago!!

Is this whats its like hearing me whine about the ref's. Feels good being on the other side for once.

US moaning? I don't think Cowen kept his mouth shut the whole game.

Anyway, classy in defeat i see so thanks for your opinions!

GREAT weekend for the greeks, seconds get promoted to champs, and 1st's set up a cracker of a final game against wests. Heard they might have a couple players out so maybe this might work to our advantage.

Oh yeah and if anyone from wests is listening, mikey, raf, george, chaz, anthony, and barry are out due to swine flu. Dammit.

If you go and re-read your previous 6 or 7 posts about how your seconds are going to get a run, and how everyone's out, you look like the biggest dickhead out.

My question, what did you think you would achieve with these lies there TSMA?

Hey TSMA, we beat Wests just the other week, we are undefeated in the league and we are in the chatham cup semifinal. I think we have a great chance of beating Wests.
Stop talking sh*t and moaning..

Those postings were before the game was played.  Obviously players decided to make themselves availiable again. I feel sorry for the 2nds that were meant to play.  Nevermind.  Last game.  No harm done.

Haha what are you 3? I smell jealousy.

Even if it does, i think its been a HELL of a season, especially in our 50th year. The boys have played some great football together, i think we have the best midfield in the league, and possibly after the game against Wests, the best team in the league and a trophy to put in our cabinet FINALLY.

We've worked our asses off, at training, in matches, and you can feel it from 1 hour before kickoff, till the final whistle blows.

Whatever happens I'm proud of the team and am happy to be a Olympic supporter.

1 win against Wests stands in our way of going a WHOLE season unbeaten in the Central league and 1 win against Manurewa stands in our way of reaching the FINALS of the most coveted cup in NZ club football.

OLYMPIC:
22 games unbeaten.
1 game away from a Chatham Cup final.
1 game away from a Central League title.

Wairarapa:
[                        ]

I think you can fill in the blank.

You guys have a QUALITY side and i thought we did well to get the 3 points, and i wish you all the best for next year.

Congrats to Olympic - two (and maybe three) massive games coming up.  That's what you play football for - games like these ones.

Good luck to both Olympic and Wests for that final game.

Fair comments.  There is next year.  Our boys acheived probably more than expected.  Beating Miramar away. Ending up mid table. Not bad for our 1st year in central league as we know it now.
