Wrong.  Got sent off in Napier.  Didn't even have boots on, but was listed for technical area.

And seen Little sent from bench at Farrington during a CL match as coach, not listed on card as player or sub.

Page 38. I'm sorry, you were saying???????  How about you think before you speak.
"The yellow card is used to communicate that a player, substitute or substituted player has been cautioned.

The red card is used to communicate that a player, substitute or substituted player has been sent off.

Only a player, substitute or substituted player may be shown the red or yellow card."

You may have to look in the fine print, Coaches can and have been red carded, ask Mr Keinzley.

Think coaches can be asked to leave the side of the pitch? Probably different from a red card.

Any official listed on the team sheet can be sent from the field of play which includes tech area. (No card is shown or required).

Thanks to those who have commented. Several coaches (including ours) have been sent from the technical area. But on Saturday Maki Halikias was not in the tech area. He was outside the fence and sometimes on the concrete terrace.

My belief then was the referee would have to ask Petone to control the spectator. But if his name was on the card he would be directly under the ref's control. (Only done a basic ref course 4 years ago. So could well be wrong.)

I am sure he was not on the card. At the time he was suspended. During the game Petone might have been asked to remove him. However, the alleged incident occurred after the game. I think a citing is the obvious event.

Anyone idea what's happening on the Halikias moment?

Profile pic. Should you be interested. Lakhsen, on the right, lost touch with him.
Mohammed, on the left, I'm still in touch with. He's now living in Agadez, Niger. More focused on his animals now as tourism has dried up. Is active with a co-op promoting local goods, leather work and bijouterie, into Europe.

I believe the deal is that the referee can put in a report, and CF convene a disciplinary committee who have wide ranging powers to fine/suspend individuals and clubs.

Incredible stamina. No shame. Yellow Fever.

Yeah Im pretty sure coaches cannot be shown cards. ie, never happens in A-League or EPL, and have seen coaches been sent off plenty of times. Ricki, Aloisi, Sir Alex... to name a few. I do recall local refs sending coaches off with and without cards.

Hence why it does say 'only players, substitutes and substituted players may be shown red or yellow card'

If you toss a coach, you'd send something into the Federation office in the form of a report and they would sort it. So Halikias if he was shown a card, must have been listed as a sub. If he was not, then the referee is completely wrong or its incorrect reporting (which is more likely)

Hi all,

This was incorrect reporting. Was no where near the referee the whole game or after. Only spoke to him after game in the clubrooms and it was a friendly chat. I thought he had a good game to be fair.

The incident was mistaken for the week before in CHC when I was shown a second yellow after final whistle for having a wee go at the official.

 That should clear it up.

DomPost said Maki Halikias got a red card for something he said to the ref after the game at Petone on Saturday. That is odd, as he was not on the team card, nor on the bench, nor in the technical area. But I guess he can be cited.

Saw Halikias  say on FB that he the quote about losing his shit was provided to the dompost for CC game.

Cough cough

Im surprised G got the Petone gig, considering what he has done Wellington United. Has left them in a real state!
