As far as getting consent for it -why could Central Fed want this team in there? And why would Capital clubs want what is essentially another Miramar team in there? The league is there for the clubs (you know - that thing you are meant to be a member of when you play) - so tell me why it's a 'good thing' for them?

get yourself to a TAB and get some league ones on for this afternoon. We are still waiting for the games from Dom's bets from about 3 weeks ago to be played, so I think that covers tonight's football.
Clubs are over-rated. I think the last one I registered for the Onslow junior club (Rama's for life). Maybe the Central Fed will realise that it is good for the Phoenix, it helps to bring quality young players to the region and it makes the league more competitive. Who knows, by needing to increase the league to keep the numbers even it may even get Wharfies in there (finally).

Pretty much what I was getting at. More young talent from over the country could come to Wellington, and by increasing the league to 12 you're eliminating a bye, and giving another club the chance to move into CL as well. It would be good for the Nix, good for NZ football. I don't really see why other clubs would be against this, unless in Napiers case where it might mean 2 more away games. Yeah it's new, yeah it's different, yeah people can be against change, but its still a good idea IMO

So long as they're treated exactly the same as every other club including relegation, and they play it straight so that it doesn't affect the league then I think it's a great idea.
