love the guy in the back ground with his hands on his head.

i think he knows whats coming…..or is his mum washing the strip this week and may need to repair the shirt being pulled?

maybe their is a bit of alpha male syndrome happening here?  (young  alpha lion attacks old alpha lion)

i find some of those young alpha boys hate being made to look like a fool by some old bastard on there field ….

still some nice clean pics.

farrington will be a ugly place with miramar gloating another win

petone at home should edge out the Rapa but i think the boys in green might pull one out to take points (bit of bias)

this hurts but i take the greeks to make west's unhappy saturday night

and i cannot bare to hurt myself further to back tawa so i hope upper hutt sparkle and get the points but i feel i will be wrong….

now sunday

i know napier at home is a hard game to win even for a top team so lower hurt i hope will finally get plan A and B working a rob the points then get off the island alive ;-)

just cannot trust these greeks or is it something about gifts….

well they lost and west's get the points and are happy while i am not, but raps and upper hurt came though to make me a bit happier for the day

now will lower hutt get it together to put a smile on my face for the week?

Wow how important could these 3 points Lower Hutt got over Wests in the first game of the season be. The wooden spoon is shaping up to be a goody.

yes very small ones.  Have not read the minimum shin pad specification in regs yet

Patricio Flemingo has always been a fan of the miniature shinpad. I think it's because he relies on his shins so much for passing/shooting etc.

Incredible stamina. No shame. Yellow Fever.

I haven't spoken to Phil since but unlikely he would be involved in anything unprovoked I would have thought

sound like a few penalties early in the game set the tone and lower hutt pushed this to the max and rovers couldn't handle it.

a class team would just play football and score goals.

the ref's job is to deal with the antics on the field and you usually cannot get involved with these sort of issues without possible penalties which happened here with the red card.

Have kept quiet so far on the incident at Park Island on Sunday when Chris G was shown a red card by referee Anthony Riley but in light of the previous comments, I need to say something.

Chris got a little annoyed by the antics of the Lower Hutt player - Jean Carlo Estrada, the #8.   It seemed that every time someone breathed on him, he fell over.   Not the first Lower Hutt player ever to have done this.

At one stage in the second half, Estrada fell down, and accordingly a free kick to Lower Hutt was awarded.   Chris G ran past the player and as he went past, he bent down and said "you're nothing but a f#%^*(&^$% cheat".   This was heard by the referee who brandished a red card.

To me, this is utter crap and I wonder where in the Football rule book where it says that a red card should be issued for this offence.   There was plenty of language audible during this game, as there is with others, but apparently Chris was told by Riley that he is "not allowed to use the "c" word".   I can understand this if it was directed at a match official, but another player...?

I really wonder at the ability of some referees to see when they are being conned by players.   On Sunday it was apparent to everyone in the ground that this was happening.   As an old crusty, I yearn for the days when our top referees had actually played the game and had a feeling for it, and not learned it from a book.

FIFA LAWS SAY IT'S A RED CARD IF A PLAYER IS "using offensive, insulting or abusive language and/or gestures".

I suggest that if there was better enforcement of this rule: players, coaches and some spectators would tidy up their acts, we might see more concentration on playing better quality football and the Saturday afternoon family crowds might grow a bit.  Just a thought.

i thought part of the game of football was to wind up the other team so they were not playing football but doing stupid things that put there game plan out the door.

what i have read indicates that NCR lost the plot and the ref didn't help them when one of the players finally had a brain fart.

to beat cheats play football and score more goals.

simple…….

Hard to have sympathy. I think pretty much every player knows that's one of two c words not to be mentioned on a field

We were both on the same team.

And back in the real world...every player at that level knows they stand to be either sent or carded without warning for swearing.  If you give the referee that opportunity dont whine like a fcuking...**$^ when he does.
