Taka are playing Rewa. Not OMU.

Three for me, and two for them.

Some predictions for the Central Fixtures of the Chatham Cup:

Seatoun vs Wainuiomata
Wainui have improved in recent weeks, which included a 4-1 win over the Toun. Going to be a tight one between two competitive teams but I'm backing Seatoun to go through.

Wellington Marist vs Greytown
Two Cap Prem teams, Greytown have ben flying in Cap Prem, really strong squad this year. Greytown to win.

North Wellington vs Tawa
Repeat of last weeks CL2 fixture last week, this time at Alex Moore Park. North Wellington will be looking to show their quality over a good CL2 side. Think Tawa may still get the win in this one.

Lower Hutt City vs Stop Out
Lots of CL2 on CL2 action this week, Stop Out beat Lower Hutt a few weeks ago, Stop out have been in good form recently but Lower Hutt at Fraser Park may be looking for revenge, LH to go through.

Palmerston North United vs Havelock North Wanderers
PNU sitting tied-top of CL2, Havelock sitting tied-top of East Prem. PNU got the win in pre-season and will be comfortable favourites in this one, would be surprised to see anything than a confident Palmy United win.

Taradale vs Whanganui Athletic
Two strong teams again, Taradale doing very well sitting in 1st of CL2, Athletic unsurprisingly dominating West Prems and will be looking to show their potential CL2 credentials. Expecting a close game but Taradale with that extra bit of quality should go through in this one.

Full-time:  Ferrymead Bays 3 Western 0 HT 2 - 0

Note: some sites are reporting scoreline as 2 - 1 which is incorrect. Bays opening goal was an 'own goal'.
In Sporty - the new system NZ Football and the Federation's use to record games - team lists, cards, goal scorers etc - nationwide this season, showing as final score being 2 - 1. With any new systems there are 'faults' and one appears to be if an 'own' goal is not recorded against the player that put the ball in the net, then Sporty records it as a 'goal' for the side that conceded the 'own goal'. Tribe and other sites, then 'pull' the data out of Sporty leading to the difference in the actual scoreline.

UPDATE. Tribe now showing scoreline as 3 - 0

Whanganui Athletic with a big 3-2 upset win against Taradale.

Taradale up 2-0 and cruising, before Athletic grabbed one back. A short time later the Athletic centre back was sent off for DOGSO (good call in my opinion).

But that seemed to rally Whanganui and they started playing brilliantly, couple of quick goals and then they managed to comfortably handle a Taradale long ball onslaught. Great and well deserved win.

I also think a Taradale player was sent off with a few minutes to go, but I was distracted.

I thought Taradale were playing well and cursing, after the red card for Whanganui, they made 4 substitutions.
Which I found strange and I thought dramatically altered how they played

From whatr I've heard Whanganui are bound for the central league considering how much work they're putting in behind the scenes. This win against Taradale is huge

How about SPL side Green Island losing to Timaru United... who are winless so far in the south canterbury league!

Some interesting results in the central/capital region.

Two ‘cup sets’ in central with Athletic and Havelock North taking CL2 scalpes. Then Seatoun and Stop Out beating Wainui and Lower Hutt probably lay against form. Tawa also seem to have the edge of NW.

The Greytown team against Marist was a bit of a joke! The amount of money and travel for a Cap Prem team…

Poor old Nth Wellington can’t catch a break.

I see Stop Out received their standard red card!

Correct, all I believe will be in this next round
I'm an optimistic pessimist.
I'm positive things will go wrong.

Do we know if regions begin combining yet? Like will the Central region teams be able to draw Wellington teams? Or will PN Marist, Rovers, Whanganui, and Wanderers play each other first?

According to the NZ Leagues instagram the capital and central feds combine this round and the Nelson and mainland feds also combine this round

Two comments

1. Bit of a shame most of the Central League got paired together but it is what it is

2. I'm picking Whanganui Athletic to get another cupset against a CL2 leader (tied with Taradale on points so close enough)

Oops, misread it. Same answer though I reckon Whanganui are gonna go on a bit of a fairytale run this year

Then they get the winner of Tawa v Stop Out 😅

But in all seriousness, hopefully they make the next round. Does the red card suspension carry over to the next round or just the next league match?
