Good game IBU vs Stop Out.
Two goals were from Rhiley Bell (looks like an admin error), was his last game for the club as he heads off overseas.
Stop Out are such an aggressive club both on and off the pitch. I guess it kind of works for them but it’s an ugly watch.
Stop Out assistant coach supposedly given a 6 week ban for comments after the game? Anyone know the story?

Fencibles v ACFC sure delivered the drama, even for a visiting neutral. It looked like it was going to extra time until Fencies scored in the 88th minute, only for City to be awarded a penalty right at the end of injury time.
When Fencies’ keeper saved it the crowd on the clubroom balcony went wild!

The conditions at Hibiscus Coast v NCR looked horrible... but not as horrible as the commentary!!!
It was a cracking start 3-1 after 15 minutes. Rovers pretty comfortable in the end.
NCR will be commissioning a statue of Bill if he gets the double across the line.

It’s great to see some new faces at this end of the comp.
I watched half of the Cashmere game and they looked full of goals. Was a good game to watch.
Well done Nelson too. How good to have a smaller town in the semi finals.
You could say the same about Napier too, kinda hope Fencibles vs Nelson is in the final for someone newish.

Don't think it's talked about enough how much Fencibles has grown so quickly. Last year they were promoted into the Northern League and finished 10th, right above relegation, now they're 4th in the league and in the Chatham Cup Semi-final. By all means this is impressive improvement and they could be a team to watch out for next year after the league shuffle

I don't follow the Northern League too closely I have to admit but wow it's interesting that Fencibles and East Coast Bays are doing so well! What has happened this year at Western Springs??

Fencibles have been a sleeping giant for some time - an excellent production line of youth talent and a huge catchment area after fighting off Bucklands Beach who challenged them for a few years. Got the right people in charge of their first team on the mens side and harnessed what was already a big club

This is the time of year when we speculate on location of Chatham and KS Cup final when deepdown NZF had paid a non-refundable deposit on North Harbour.
With the semis being (using City names):
Auckland v Nelson
Christchurch v Napier
Auckland v Auckland
Wellington v Christchurch
I think if the two Cashmere Tech sides win, then finals day should be in the new stadium in Christchurch
Fencibles v Cashmere Tech, ES or Ell v Cashmere Tech
Nelson v Cashmere Tech, ES or Ell v Cashmere Tech
If Fencibles win and only one Cashmere Tech side wins, then with 2 Auckland sides, finals day should be at North Harbour.
Fencibles v Cashmere Tech, ES or Ell v Phoenix
Fencibles v Napier, ES or Ell v Cashmere Tech
Fencibles v Napier, ES or Ell v Phoenix
but that leaves some combinations where there is only one side for each city and opportunity to play finals day outside of North Harbour
Nelson v Cashmere Tech, ES or Ell v Phoenix
Nelson v Napier, ES or Ell v Phoenix
Nelson v Napier, ES or Ell v Cashmere Tech
Interestingly CakeTin, McLean Park (Napier), Trafalgar Park (Nelson), One NZ Stadium (Chrisrchurch) don't have NPC fixtures on finals weekend, the only one that does is North Harbour on the Sunday.

I'd love for finals to not be played at North Harbour anymore. I remember seeing Wairarapa and Rovers pack out Memorial Park in Palmy for the final years ago. Makes way more sense to try and choose a neutral location everytime, not just make it a short walk for the NZ football execs from their office to the stadium

hint - it is a trick question (i.e. not a football international) hence why it is a great trivia question.

Others have commented on the 2011 final in Palmy but the 2012 final was also outside Auckland
When the semi-finals were drawn NZF stated something along the lines of the final was scheduled for August 26 at North Harbour Stadium but if there was no Auckland team involved, an alternative venue would be sought.
I pointed out at the time that there was an NPC match scheduled for North Harbour Stadium on August 26th (Harbour v Waikato) but received the amusing reply from the then operations manager ...
"Thanks for your email and yes we are aware of the ITM draw but frankly we cannot manage all our competitions around what other codes do. At this moment there remains on [sic] guarantee that an Auckland team will make the final and ultimately NZF can, at its sole discretion, determine where the final is played. Once we know the finalists then we will make that call."
Needless to say the final was moved even though Central United won their semi (6-0 vs Miramar Rangers which I watched). The final was played at Newtown Park instead. So despite NZF not managing their competitions around other codes they had to do so since Harbour had booked the pitch and NZF hadn't !

If I remember correctly they announced North Habour right after the 2024 SF draw since Auckland City and Birkenhead drew each other, meaning that no matter what an Auckland team would make the final. Just annoys me how they don't seem to even consider anywhere else, they just want to play North Harbour every time and not give other locations a shot unless they absolutely have to
