A slight error in this - North Wellington appears twice.

They have been inadvertently included among those granted a bye, because they are set to play Wellington College on Anzac Day.

Cheers,

Does that mean that Porirua City and Eastbourne are now ranked ahead of Seatoun.

oh, how the once mighty have fallen

PS - i could not permit Jinky's scandalous spelling of Chatham to stand

It's Stop Out's year I can feel it.
Profile pic. Should you be interested. Lakhsen, on the right, lost touch with him.
Mohammed, on the left, I'm still in touch with. He's now living in Agadez, Niger. More focused on his animals now as tourism has dried up. Is active with a co-op promoting local goods, leather work and bijouterie, into Europe.

Those first round of matches are scheduled for April 25 (with the pre-qualifiers being played on Easter Monday). Should be a big crowd at Paekak for that. Anyone actually know where Paekakariki play?

may as well give tawa and karori a bye, unless hit by a serious illness or something abolishing all their squads I can't see any of those teams in the PG games beating them

With the Northern region covering United Soccer 1, Auckland and Waikato Bay of Plenty (quite a large area), our club, West Hamilton, has the pleasure of playing away this year (the last three we have had qualifiers at home, and lost them all).

We get to travel to North Hamilton! And the winner of that plays Claudelands Rovers (East Hamilton if you like).

Yay.

I bloody hope so. Last year we made it to the 2nd round but had to play UH city. Lost 4-1 I think though it was one of our best games ever (we went 1-0 up and the game was tied to 1-1 till about 23-25min to go). Not a bad effort given the skills difference.

CMON BIRKO!!!

We're due a cup run tbf.

EDIT: Just seen we have Matamata at the home of football in the 1st Round. Should send them crying back to their derelict farm houses in bogan country tbh.

Nice one Buffon, apart from Matamata being an above average side your comments will look great blown up and on the walls in the clubrooms.

ok, the great Chatham Cup assumes centre stage this weekend

Amongst the fixtures is a first ever encounter between Paekakariki (established 2003) and Wharfies (four times winners, but not since 1947).

Having comfortably disposed on twice former Cup winners, Seatoun, in the pre prelim round, can Paekak keep their cup run going? Other than their 3 nil hiding of once mighty Seatoun, little is known of the quality of the Paekak. Different sources conflict over the size of the club (either two or four senior men's teams, depending on who you believe). Wharfies on the other hand, are the largest club in the region by team numbers.

But, regardless of the precise numbers, to the great credit of the Paekak footy club it has superceded the rugby club as the pre-eminent winter sports club in town - and taken charge of Paekak's only field in doing so.

For those of us who have never had the fortune to have played at picturesque Campbell Park, Wotzon has a good blurb on the ground and a panoramic video to boot -

For the travelling army from Karori looking to make a weekend of the fixture up the coast, I can recommend the tram at QE2 park if you have kids and, of course, the ageless Fisherman's Table.

Further intelligence ...

Paekak finished 5th last year in Horowhenua Senior Men's Comp won by Waikanae (as a curious aside, Kapiti Coast 3rds finished 23 points ahead of Kapiti Coast 2nds in that same league). Cant find any of Paekak's results from this season.

Meanwhile, Wharfies finished 4th in Champs Prem last year and sit about mid table at the moment with 2 wins, draw and a loss.

Paekak has 3 Mens & 1 Womens Teams and are planning to enter an A League Team in 2014. The grounds now have a bore and sprinkler system, public toilets, and last year the grounds never closed!topiary2009-04-21 08:36:38

It promises to be a humdinger of a match. Paekakariki will be on fire for the first 20 minutes before the effects of the pre-match smoke kick in and they have to resort to their continental style of kicking the ball around without moving while enjoying the scenery. Wharfies will pinch one just before the break with a Beckham like shot that flies in from half way 20 metres out.
After the break Wharfies will grab another couple in the first 15 mintues which will result in the crowd invading the pitch and attacking the opposition players with half drunk bottles of Tui quarts. (True story from the good old rugby days. I think Shannon were the visiting team on that occasion.)
Former Porirua, Wests, Tawa, KCU, and current Paekakariki record signing Spud Monk will then pop up to nod a consalation goal with a couple to go to ensure that the Paekock Massive on the embankment is pacified.
The after match function will be very cordial as all the players warm themselves up with a steaming hot bowl of vegetarian soup.

That would be correct. There can only be one Pilonidal Sinus and I've burst out after a long, festering hibernation.

I recommend, in fact I strenuously urge, any curious minds to resist any temptation to seek out a definition, or even worse a graphic illustration, of pilonidal sinus.

The game SV against Marist on Easter Monday is not a real SV team.
Most of them play over 6 or even 7 games around easter weekend in Palmerston North

Totally agree man as you can see that comment was made before the season started (25 march), I was basing this on Hilton Petone, and players having left. I would love to see SV hump Uni (no offence Uni), but they should if they deserve to be in cap1

Douglas Villa to beat Tawa in a 2-1 thriller to set up a fairytale Chatham Cup run.
Permalink Permalink

For those of you that don't know. Paekakariki play in Green and Black. The green represents the herb that is shipped in by yacht along the deserted kapiti coast beaches. The black shorts are actually just black cut off jeans.
Of course everybody knows Wharfies play in Black and White. The white represents the mist that enshrouds the suburb 365 days of the year, while the black represents the predominant colour of the SUV's that mummy needs to drop little Timmy Jenkins-Hewitt off at school.

North Wellington 2-1 over coll. Coll played some nice football, north wellington Defended and got two horrible goals on the break. Coll were by far the better side and unlucky not to win, had a goal disallowed, the less said about the refereeing the better.
