We lost, United won. Its the Chatham Cup, the team that shows up on the day, wins. And United did exactly that. Congratulations.

Its unfortunate our title defense had to end so early, but that's football. Can look to concentrate on the League now. Get a Central League title under our belts.

And to all the haters (monkeyboy) your jealousy fuels your hate for our prime established club and your only making a fool of yourself. Dont be angry because the only thing Tawa have ever won is $2 off a lotto scratchy.

Nelson Suburbs 2 - 1 Halswell United

Suburbs came from behind scoring two goals in the final eight minutes to win 2-1. Although they were missing key defender Mathew Ayloff it was Suburbs attack which struggled. But striker Sam Ayers scored a equalizer after some individual brilliance dribbling 40m down the left through the Halswell defence. Then solomon islander Casper Aengari put home the winner late in injury time.

Def got that wrong 2ndBest, but I knew he wouldn't be able to help himself throwing something about Tawa in there.

Multi-Chatham Cup winners Central United, North Shore United and Manurewa were among first-round casualties yesterday.

Central lost the match of the round 2-1 at home to Metro while Manurewa went down 4-2 to Tauranga City and Shore lost 5-2 to neighbours Takapuna.

East Coast Bays, winners two years ago, sneaked home 1-0 over 10-man Onehunga Sports while Auckland Grammar kept school hopes alive with their 3-1 home win over first division Onehunga Mangere.

In Wellington cup-holders Olympic lost 2-1 to Wellington United and former winners Miramar bowed out in extra time to Wairarapa United.

The second-round draw will be made live on Radio Sport this afternoon.

Incredible stamina. No shame. Yellow Fever.

I thought the ref in the Bubble/Utd clash did alright. He got stitched up by the young lino who had a shocker, but the kept his composure well and didnt flip out like a lot of refs do. Raf was pretty lucky to stay on the pitch after going nuts at him for about 10 minutes

He missed a couple of fairly obvious calls, and yes was not helped by a very hesitant young lino.

Both teams were doing their best to push the limits with him.
HE had balls to order the retake though, so kudos to him.
