Played in the Marist v Brooklyn match. Typical pre-season stuff - very ugly and some tired bodies at the end. Field was pretty short and keepers were kicking box-to-box - which was quite frustrating.

Highlights were a couple of outstanding saves, first from the Brooklyn keeper low to his right and then an even better save by the Marist keeper (Wulfsteam) high at full stretch to his left. Not to mention a handy save by a Brooklyn defender in the second half with the resulting penalty calmly placed OVER the bar :-)

Porirua Leste are bunnies.  Miramar's 2nds seemed to have usual suspects.  Likewise North Wellington.  The Marist B BNU B game sounded/looked pretty physical from what I saw, which wasn't a lot.

Incredible stamina. No shame. Yellow Fever.

Smithy what are you doing watching other teams, now you are coaching I thought you would be concentrating on your new role. I'm sure the club won't be happy paying you the big bucks and you are not watching your team? Also the comment about your opposition is a bit derispectful to them and your own teams effort.

I started sneaking a peak at other teams when we were 4-0 up.  You're right though, Barry paid me a half eaten sausage for my work yesterday so he won't be happy that I wasn't 100% in the moment.

In fairness though I was a bit hard on Porirua.  They had some good players (their 10 was excellent) and some very young kids (three of ours were 15 too mind).  Their goalkeeper got injured during the game but played on, limiting his ability to make saves.  We also had Jimbo in goal which gives you something (mostly unnecessary Cruyff turns and hands the size of dinner plates).

A half eaten sausage? Times must be tough at Petone, aren't they giving away a free banger with every tournament program??

Lower Hutt were up 6-2 when I left this evening.  They were up 5-0 after 20 and also hit both uprights in minutes early on.

Caught Tawa scoring one in the second half against Marist but have no idea what the score was either side of that.

SV - LH ended up 8-2

Marist ended up 4 nil down, rahhhh!
Nil all at half time, and pretty even. We just ran outta puff in the last 20 or so mins. A cracking own goal finished off the scoring. No real exscuses to be offered, subs probly didnt help. But still. Rahhh!

You're right back ( Isaac ) coming off wasn't a good sign.

That means the goal I caught was the first.

Yeah I'm not to sure why we did that, I think Issac was a bit knackered and we were giving everyone a run. The goals didn't come down his side though, the midfield changes hit us the most I think. Lost the shape and didn't follow the runners through.

Oh well, first game, will build on it, cmon Lower Hutt!!

So. Has  Feverish been sent for an early shower yet?

Apparently I'm apathetic, but I couldn't care less.

By the way I think Mike Madden played for Lower Hutt last night.

Most talented player I've ever seen in Wellington.

You have got to be having a laugh, there is no doubt he has talent but the best you have seen in Wellington - sorry but not by a long shot.

Opps my mistake - don't get all technical and speak in lawyer language, I should have said there is no doubt he has talent but the MOST TALENTED you have EVER seen in Wellington - sorry but not by a long shot.

Looking at those scores the games seemd to be a little more even last night. Wainui B be happy they only conceded 2 goals, maybe their keeper could be promoted to the 1st for next week.

A dog with a bone :)
