Could still lose it on goal difference, but highly unlikely for a 10 goal turn a round.

Seems the wharf are best suited to play on the boggy grass pitches with the style of football they play rather than the turf.

I thought the hutt park held up quite well but i have one question to ask. Is it worth paying players to the extravagance that stop out have to spend yet another year in the prem league? I thought they were pretty average today.

WU 1 - 0 KCU

ref had a nightmare sending off Sacha Nathu for a "hand ball" outside the box, when he clearly controlled it with his chest. baffled everyone up at the turf. managed to hold on nonetheless

Fuck this stupid game

You assume!

Good for you.

Profile pic. Should you be interested. Lakhsen, on the right, lost touch with him.
Mohammed, on the left, I'm still in touch with. He's now living in Agadez, Niger. More focused on his animals now as tourism has dried up. Is active with a co-op promoting local goods, leather work and bijouterie, into Europe.

If Stop Out are paying players extravangant amounts....  Was it worth it?  Depends on how much and what they wanted to achieve... If Stop Out simply wanted to be very competitive and push towards winning the league then yes I guess it was a success... If they only (according to your statement) paid extravagant amounts to win the league then I guess no it wasnt worth it.

Why do people have such a huge issue with paying players?  And im not saying you do, but i've seen many people complain about it before.  If the money is coming from the Clubs pocket, or the pockets of those around the club... then who cares?  Players give up quite a bit of time with trainings etc, so why not get paid a little for what you do and in NZ club football terms are good at?  Are players who train 2-3 times a week and travel to and from trainings/games expected to play for free and then pay for Yellow and Red cards, and to be fair i've had a few that have been quite harsh.... Not to mention how much Mr Easthope charges us for boots ;)

Anyway good on the Bogans!  Central League next year?

Even the highest paid players still have jobs.  They dont make a living from playing.  Do we also think that people playing in the NZFC shouldn't be paid then?  This isn't a professional league either.

So I have been away from Wellignton for 3 months now.  Do Upper Hutt have a genuine chance of Central League next year?  How have they been playing?

aren't Naki pulling out or defaulting the playoffs? Could be bs, just what I heard the other day.

What I've heard is that they're all geared for the play-off, but if they lose that they'll call it quits.

I read also somewhere that it was turning into just a straight head to head battle and that the naki were just not going to compete and the winners of the play off would graduate to the CL.

UH won 3-0 over Mar.

Marist 0 - 1 WU.

Apparently CCM's bus stopped at the red light and looked to be well amused with the state of the pitch when a chipped long ball stopped dead in the mud. They wouldn't have guessed it was Wellington's Premier grade!

Fuck this stupid game

Playing Prem League games on pitches like Kilbirnie is part of Capital Football's strategy to grow the game. All clubs need to buy into that strategy. At Wellington United, we'll pass on that one.

Was when I left.  Not only the Premier team winning the league but every team in the club recording a win - eight games, eight wins - some big ones.  Great atmosphere - but when have you ever seen anything different at the mighty Rua.

I guess it was a nothing match, but still surprised at the Stop Out result. What was their line up? Regular starting 11 or some young fellas blooded?

I was not there so can't help but the following is worth noting....

John Barton, Island Bay assistant coach, will tell you that he predicted this result in the Stop Out clubrooms about ten minutes after the final whistle following Bay's 8-0 loss to Stop Out. I know because he made the prediction to me.

Paying players has been discussed ad nauseam.
So just a quick reply to the Stop Out comment above. All of the clubs are paying players are they not? What they are doing is no different to any other?
If a club doesn't pay they DO NOT ATTRACT players. Sad but true.

Maybe that's the case down in Wellywood but it doesn't apply up here.

Three for me, and two for them.

That is the same as paying players, as they are getting something fo nothing.  They also get win bonuses.

Marist seemed to attract and survive in the Prems this year just fine without paying players. In fact, I had to pay for my own kit bag. So yah, there you go

Kapiti doesn't pay players infact quiet the opposite, Players pay large amounts of subs + fines. If not payed baycorp will be on your arse!!!!! Not good news. This is highly likely why most of the better players in the region play in town and why kapiti are in the position they are in!
