Karori 2 - Marist 0

Good finish off a slack corner, and an absolute screamer in the 89th minute (would like to see him do it again with a hundred shots). Can't really argue with the result though, Karori had the clear cut chances.

Also helps having the Phoenix Keeper coach in goal

Wonder where Fulcher is.  Oh Greenie...

Guess when your short a keeper having Crumpy and Mal in the squad helps you get cover.

Thought Marist did quite well against almost a full strength Wharf.

Wharf looking strong this season. Marist won't get relegated as long as they can avoid injuries.

Incredible stamina. No shame. Yellow Fever.

not.

Watched Titanic v Upper Hutt first half and it was of a poor standard. Pen to Utd after someone threw grass at Regie, then somehow Rooker stayed on after kicking someone on the ground.

Better quality over at Bubbles v Kids.

Titanic sunk in the last 5 minutes 2-1.
Young Capital kids smacked Coll 11-1.
Old Capital Kids proved Bubbles 2 goals worse than Canterbury United Yoof - 3-0.
No idea on Leste vs Titanic II.

Didn't he do the same thing a couple of years back in a game against Petone, but that time he didn't stay on the field!

Marist squad in wharfies game shy a couple of players as well... boys did well, Karori dominated the second half but I thought we shaded the first, certainly in shots at least. Formation change at half time did not work as well as hoped, still, good signs for the season.

From the club:

  • Sunday 7 March will be again be early kick offs because of the Phoenix match, but they're an hour earlier! - 10.15 am and 12 noon. Please check the draw closely as there are some small changes.
  • Disciplinary - Mike Dowds (Marist), Tom Roxborough (Wgtn Coll) - suspended for Round 2.
  • Carparking - is at a premium on Sundays so please ask people to be considerate. We had one car block off the Bracken St carpark and one blocked off the chained entrance to the grounds so we couldn't get the ambulance in for a serious injury. I might have to send in the WCC parking wardens!
  • Please ask coaches/managers/players to warm up off the pitches wherever possible.
  • Please ask coaches/managers/players to respect the request for not leaving sock tape, bottles and other rubbish on or around the pitches. Please place all rubbish the bins.
  • Food is available during and after games with a BBQ on Sundays and Eddie and Rosalie upstairs on weekdays providing delicious hot sandwiches.

Incredible stamina. No shame. Yellow Fever.

And can I just say that the Roast Beef sandwiches available upstairs in the clubrooms for FIVE BUCKS are fan-f**king-tastic.

Skylab. They are at the club, locked up in the net room. Ask for me or Barry Pickering.

Not my size, lucky for you.

prick News, don't wind me up like that haha. Good game for both teams, draw was probably a fair result seeing our first goal was a bit of a keeper hash but oh well these things happen.

you should tell your keeper he is allowed to pick up the ball.
Some ordinary footy out there again. Highlight was Island Bay's own Rory Delap.
