Tough conditins last night for everyone. Strong wind, VERY hard ground and still early season. Some good footy played in patches though. Teams will only get better as people come back from other commitments and fitness levels improve. I'm definatly looking forward to the upcoming season. Bring on the rain and softer grounds

Bet you won't be saying that in July

Indeed very tough conditions last night.  Think both teams struggled to get the ball on the ground at times.

Was impressed with IB last night.  Played some good footy at times and would expect to see them  high up on the premier table.  They definitely had the better of the first half but didnt create too many clear cut chances.  I only remember making a couple of saves.

Great goal from our centre back. Must have been 25 yards out.

Let hope we roll petone on Sunday and IB roll SV so the defending champions get knocked out in the group stages

It'll depend how each team takes the Sunday games this week. Trying new players and resting injuries will play a part. A draw will get Petone through i think.
PS Man City 0 - Everton 2. Sorry 2ndBest, I had to say it

Its no longer a problem.

Yes not impressed with the results

A draw will get us both through with Petone qualifying first on more goals scored.

i think it was (according to Hard News)
Stop Out 3-0 over Nth Wgtn
LH drew 1's with UH
LH2 drew 1s with Catholics2

and the mighty Wharfies marched on with a 3-1 win over Stokes Vegas Africa who swapped their 12yr old 5ft goalie for a 7ft, 44yr old early in the second half.

LH looked they had a lot of their regulars - but didnt notice too many regulars from the other teams (including Petone who were getting put through a less than grueling training session by Fozzie- the hardest thing they had to do was shift the goals)

I left in the second half with BNU up 1-0 over Tawa and the 'Mar up 2-1 over Wharfies despite only having ten men and no players over the age of 12.

Shame, BNU butchered a stack of chances and really should have been up by more than one, obviously changed in the last half hour.

the Miramarsipans weren't very young I dont think. You were just looking at me standing next to the guy young enough to be my kid (he was a ginger so I dont think he is)

The Miramar right back (no.8) that got sent off should be in a nut house. Angriest player ever.

He was provoked by your number 9 who was an animal.  Albeit an animal with a touch of goal scoring class and a fine eye for a supporters' club opportunity.

Incredible stamina. No shame. Yellow Fever.

Nobody provoked him when he punched a player off the ball 2 minutes in though...

As for Wharfies number 9 , he has a very fine eye for any opportunity in fact, particularly on a saturday night.

Did he get the equaliser ?

No, but he did force a great save with a diving header.

The equaliser came from the right ass cheek of Karori's super-sub

was that the same number 9 who tried to trap the ball with his first touch only for it to roll underneath his foot?

Previously I would have quipped that if WB4E had been leaning on the railing then the railing would have collapsed however it appeared yesterday that WB4E had perhaps gone off the Ahmed Elrich diet for a change!

Wonders will never cease.

Or foolproof perhaps?

Full proof is the liquor that Wharfies #9 consumes before going out searching for an "opportunity".

On your way to the Tuck Shop by any chance News?

Awful sausages last night by the way Petone.  Clearly sizzled up well before kick off and left to stay "warm" on the BBQ as it cooled.  More chunder-inducing than a Naenae Stokes Valley aftermatch function.

Smithy, That lad who got sent off WAS a f**kn nutbar! You have to admit that. Its usually Greenie sent off in those situations yet he showed a surprising amount of maturity and didnt react.

Were you a bit off colour Feverish?
