With Selwyn defeating Coastal Spirit 4 - 2, in the Southern League today the Stallions lifted the Hurley Shield for the first time and in doing so became the tenth different club to win the trophy. Today's game was the 134 Shield Challenge and the 27th successful challenge.

The Friends and Family bubble will only enter and exit through the main English Park entrance. Bubble number two will only enter and exit through the Sheppard Place entrance closest to the garage. Bubble number three will only enter and exit through the Sheppard Place entrance through the small car park.
For men's national league matches, you will need to contact each club to reserve a spot in the bubbles.
There will be FREE entry to English Park, and spectators will be allowed to bring any non-alcoholic beverages and food that they wish. Portaloos will be provided for spectators in the general public bubbles as they will not have access to the English Park facilities.
You must scan or sign in to English Park, keep your distance from others you don’t know, and we recommend the use of face masks.
For Canterbury United Pride matches, the two bubbles open to the general public will operate on a first-in-first-served basis and will be capped at 100 for each bubble (200 spectators total).

After 28 straight years of coaching, First Team Coach Danny Halligan has stepped down from his position as First Team Head Coach for Christchurch United Football Club to spend more time with his family.
Christchurch United Club President Slava Meyn spoke on Danny’s tenure at the club:
“As the President of Christchurch United Football Club, I am very thankful to Danny Halligan for his invaluable efforts in making the club great once more. Three years ago, Christchurch United was in the local second division, and now we are once again competing for a position in the National League as we had done 30 – 40 years ago.”
Danny has given the club a fantastic three seasons, taking the club from the Canterbury Championship League in 2019 all the way to narrowly missing out on qualification for the National League at the end of the 2021 season. Under his guidance, our first team reached 3 English cup finals in a row and went on two fantastic runs in both the 2019 and 2021 Chatham Cup.
“With his arrival in 2019, Danny brought both great character and a strong sense of professionalism that helped our club develop. After having coached for 28 years in a row, Danny is taking a well-deserved break from football to spend more time with his family. We wish a Christchurch United and All Whites legend all the best and hope to see him in the stands next year for Christchurch United’s first team games.” - Christchurch United Club President Slava Meyn.

We say a fond farewell to our long term MPL coach Ekow Quainoo. Ekow will be stepping down from the role he has held for the past 6 years, after a long drawn-out season which saw his team win the Hurley Shield with a Southern League victory over Cashmere Technical.
Ekow has been at the club since its inception and was a player in the side which won promotion to the MPL, before coaching the Men’s reserves, U19’s and Men’s first team. Describing his resignation as the “Hardest decision of my life” Ekow will now concentrate on his business interests and find ways to develop as a coach.
We would like to thank Ekow for his tireless work, passion and dedication to the club and wish him all the best for the future.

We are delighted to announce the appointment of Jose Matiz as our Men’s first team coach for the 2022 season. Jose has a long association with the club and was part of the Men’s team that won promoted to the MPL in 2010. Jose has coached our Men’s reserves and U19 teams, winning the Adidas U19 Labour weekend tournament in 2019. Last season, Jose was part of the Selwyn United senior set up.
We a very happy to have Jose back at the club.
Jose will be supported by Paul Hughes, David Steans, James Vallance, Brendon Ong and Fraser Walker Pearce
Any idea on the teams for both the Mainland Prem and Football South Prem for 2022? Saw Queens Park are in for next year, but I'm unsure on the whole qualifying tournament or format
