Used the term 'ditching' to mean changing coach.

Free on Saturday, picks for the cup finals? Cashmere and Bays would have to be favourites?

With Bays run of form of late, you would have to say Coastal would be favourites. However, considering Coastal's own run of form I'm going for penalties!

Coastal the "thinking fans" favourite. Finished second last year.

Oxymoron springs to mind.

What? The Coastal thinking fans or Parklands the club of the future? Both seem a little far-fetched.

Interested in seeing Cashmere doing well this time and Burnside did well a year or so ago. They dont strike you as a major footballing school, is it they do well getting club players available? Or any other ideas?

Not always the case as some schools won't allow players to play tournaments if thay have not been available for school 1st X1 on a weekly bases. Stac with Tane Gent a few years ago got given the hard word, that was after he'd played a sesaon MPL for WTech.
Burnside High didn't have a school team competing in a Saturday comp this season so yes had club based players for Hamilton.

Ticketd for National Knockouts on sale via Dashtickets.co.nz
Yeah Right. Just tried to go get some and not listed on the web site, is this the start of a Mainland balls up? Maybe a week away but why put out details yesterday to the public if not on sale yet. Noted a comment in their blurb that 'Gate sales may not be available'.

Tickets DO NOT go on sale until 9am Friday 6 September, so not really a balls up.

Avonside didn't win in Dunedin. They lost 1-0. Probably the better team, but Columba handled Moore bloody well.

hope it didn't get the Marian result wrong as well!

When Selwyn was involved more with the APFA, we joked that Lincoln High School would have carved up with all of their APFA students, except they were given the hard work not to play for the school under any circumstances, pity that.

Clubs involved got a 36 hour head start on sales and link didn't work originally, not Mainlands fault they had been given incorrect link by Dash ticketing, all sorted now and as AW says public sale from 9:00 a.m. tomorrow, no gate sales.

Actually no gate sales if all tickets, 2500, are sold online, otherwise their will be gate sales. Heard late this afternoon that sales have passed the 200 mark already although I doubt they will sell out online?

The language at MPL games mean this is an ideal event for children to go and learn a series of words to shock their grandmothers with.

Brilliant!

On that note, are Western supporters allowed to watch other MPL games or are they only banned from their own matches?

Big day for local footy. Good luck to the four sides contesting the Reta Fitzpatrick Cup and the English. A new new will be going on the Reta Fitz Cup and maybe on the English Cup as well.

Can Cashmere Technical become the first side to win the South Island Football Championship Final on the road?

A good day at ASB tomorrow building up to an even bigger day next Sunday.

Technically ya right in terms of the final, but 2 Dunedin clubs have won on the road in the SIFC, one going on to win it all.
In saying that, Cashmere are warm favourites in my book and will take it 2-1.
