Games next round: Bays vs. Suburbs, Halswell vs. Coastal and Western vs. Nomads. Tech vs. University postponed due to Chatham Cup.

Most people looking at Nomads/Uni as the relegation battle, but Halswell have to be careful not to get dragged into it too. Big game for them against Coastal next week, and Coastal at least moving in the right direction. A win at Halswell would make them safe I would say

Next 3 weeks - Halswell v Coastal, Halswell v Nomads and then Halswell v Uni.. Yep - it'll be an interesting watch thats for sure.  I don't think Halswell will go down though.

Scoreless at half time. Sounds like it os a good game with both side having changes with Forrest Hill hitting the cross bar twice.

After a scoreless 1st half were both sides had chances Forrest Hill score early in the second half to take the lead 1 - nil over Coastal in the Women's KO Cup semi.

Yes, a Coastal win over Halswell would be enough to stay up.

Milford 1-0 :(

Buuger Forest's Emma Rolston scores late in added time to make it 2 - 1 and that was the final score to end Coastal's run in defending the ASB Women's KO Cup.

Uni look like they are going to finish strong, they look like a far better team than nomads. They almost got bays yesterday, they have been a breath of fresh air for the mpl this year. If they got the points they deserved this year they would be sitting well clear of bottom spot.

Yep, and every other team could pretty much say the same . Promise means nothing, winning starts where losing finishes.

While I personally would like to see Uni stay up this season, just because a team deserves the points means they will get them. Winning is a habit, and Uni's only habit this season hasn't been winning. I wish your idea was true though, as it would mean Newcastle would win the epl each season because according to me every other team in the league are a bunch of cunts who deserve to win nothing.

While I agree with others that it comes down to winning, Universities have looked far better than a lot of the teams they have come up against. Their only downfall this season has been the finishing. 3 one on one's with Highfield in the last 10 minutes of the Bays game and none found the net. That's the reason Uni is down the bottom and not mid-table, not to mention pushing Tech all the way 2 out of the 3 times they've played this season and no blowouts such as 7-0 despite the lack of numbers the last few weeks. Tail end of the season looks VERY interesting.

Justice is served.

Rita semi: University 4-2 v Cash Tech. Fully deserved victory for the varsity girls. For Cash Tech ladies, a continuation of their role as WPL nearly team/also rans/chokers/bridesmaids...call it what you want

Might have to start paying the fairer sex too in order to get the quality. Until then they play where they want to, just like the good old days....sigh.

During the match last night for some strange reason TV cameras kept on focusing on Louie Bush in the crowd

(Maybe it is the lovely long curls he has !)  ... or does he have a West Ham supporting identical twin out there.
