Coastal Spirit 0 Cashmere Technical 1 - a Tom Schwarz penalty early in second half.

Good game of football tonight I thought. Both teams passed the ball round well and could have been any score I could bet on.

Sad news: no more Premier League for 7 months. Shithouse.

No more FA cup for your lot either. For a year. Shithouse is right. ;)

On the last day of the 2015 MPL season, I hope the bottom 4 teams all have to win to avoid relegation and the top 4 teams all have to win, to win the title; wouldn't that make for an interesting last day?

Yip, would be great. However I can see Tech winning and Christchurch Utd relegated well before the last game.

Think Chch Utd will come straight back to Div1 with games to spare. Will need to heavily recruit to stay up as Universities as the '2nd worst team' in MPL are markedly better than them. Probably look outside the city rather than getting some from Nomads to come across. If the Nomads players were good enough they would have stayed up themselves.

Not yet they haven't. They will play Suburbs when Nelson College and Nayland College return from the school nationals in Napier. College on 43 points, Suburbs on 41.

Do not think there was ever going to be a play-off at the end of this season as no club indicated that if the won in either Blenheim or Nelson that they were going to seek promotion.

yeah don't think there's any club in Nelson aiming for MPL at this point.

Vin, here is the break down of points Round 1 - 10 and then 11 - 21 so Nomads with worst, followed by Suburbs and University equal who were just shaded by Halswell, with Suburbs having the worst goal difference in the last half of the season - 21, Nomads - 14, Unversity -5 and Halswell - 2.

1 - 10 11 - 21 Total
Cashmere Technical 30 24 54
Western 22 23 45
Ferrymead Bays 15 19 34
Nelson Suburbs 18 11 29
Coastal 10 14 24
Halswell 7 12 19
University 5 11 16
Nomads 8 8 16

At least you could say that Nomads were consistent....

You could also say shipping a -21 goal difference in the second half of the season proves my point.

You could say that, but their form at the very start of the season was equally as bad. I think the additions of Erik Panzer, Alex Ridsdale and Davitt Walsh in the middle of the campaign, was probably the difference. As soon as they left the team stopped winning.

About time another Christchurch side went back to back in the Chatham Cup so all the best to Cashmere Technical on Sunday. Do not forgot Final is going to be lived streamed, sounds like the Woolston Club will have it set up and also live on Radio Sport, kick-off at 2:30pm.

Thanks for the clip.

I see the article above [Autosport Club Rally] the segment on Ash got a place on The Press online.

What a good story about Billy Weir. I like the fact that he coached a team at Aranui HS; a team that had Aaron Clapham..

People, if you're in Christchurch get along to the Woolston Working Men's Club, 43 Hargood St. at 2.30 pm today for live streaming of the final.

If watching at home, note though that NZ Football sent out an incorrect link for the streaming that all the media have been repeating - there are some letters wrong in the address.

Here is the actual link:

http://new.livestream.com/i-filmsport/ASBChathamCu...

It's free of course.

Hope it's a good quality stream and we get some other domestic footie online in future such as ASB Premiership.
