selwyn have a good keeper who was one of the 6 away. yes there right back played well but would still say most of the chances created came through dan as well as the goal he scored so wouldn't quite say he was in his pocket but as i said yes was impressed with the young kid. other than the red card that should have been the ref might as well have had his waimak shirt on. interesting you didn't mention waimak should have had a red card for raising a hand in the selwyn strikers face or perhaps you didn't see that?

How Selwyn could do with a decent keeper, even If they do like cake/pies/beers. They've always had a weak keeper. If your looking for Dan Ede, he's still in thea 16yr old right backs pocket!

To Be Fair - their number 1 keeper missed the last 2 games.  Not sure if he likes pies though.  I'll ask him.

FC20 beat the Turtles 1-0

Heard rumours that Turtles have been playing at least 1 player that isn't registered to them!

Very true. Think one of them may have even scored the goal for FC20 though it may have been going in before he made sure of it :)

According to couple players on the waimak bench Dan Ede is a homo which they made loudly clear so maybe him being in his pocket is where he wants to be! That being said fully derserved the win though

I might have this wrong but could the large knee brace being worn have been involved in the own goal he scored??

Atleast the Turtles haven't won any points yet if you're rumours are true.

Perhaps if he stopped strutting around like he owns the joint. Great attitude after the game too, too good to shake hands with officials and opposition. Did'nt he get the hump last season when he couldnt get no service.  No I in TEAM.

yes he got the "hump" so much that he is back for a second season despite having numerous mpl clubs interested. if an opposing team shouted out during a game that I was a homo I would think twice about shaking their hands despite the fact they deserved the win. unfortunately no matter how much good this new coach does at waimak they will have a tough time changing their image. shouting from the bench about an opposing player being a homo isn't a good start trying to change that

Oh sweaty Betty, if you stopped eating cake/pies or anything else in your eyeline and had a chance to learn some facts you would know that everything that happened was with the grace of the club, team and all involved with those involved last season. He is an integral part of the club and gets on really well with those in the squad, coaches youth sides at the club and gives 100% for the club. He has organised loads off the pitch and if he chose to leave the club to help pursue a Canterbury team spot, if he went about it the same way as last year again it would probably have the same blessing. Honestly mate, I have no problem with ripping shark out of each others teams (although I did say Waimak were deserved winners), but when you start spouting tripe, then you will get these type of replies.

I would hope this is a 1 off and the people involved are read the riot act.

Firstly, im presuming you think Im the Waimak goalkeeper,  although you are correct about being partial to cake/pie a day. I have no idea what he gets upto in your club, just commenting on what I saw from the sidelines saturday.

By the smack you spout sweaty it is clear you have no interest in / knowledge of football. From all accounts this is the typical Waimak Dickhead culture from yesteryear the club is desperately trying to shake. Nice work, they will be pleased with your contribution - just don't expect to be taken too seriously or respected.

he's a top lad  my wee mate dan ,  he did give me a sloppy kiss after he scored the 3rd goal of a Chatham cup final, but there was no tongue so I think he's bats the same way as us

He has never given me the impression he is bigger than the team. In fact I struggle to remember any time he missed a training session

And was a very well liked lad within the club,I'm sure he is no different at selwyn

The only issue I have with him is he's English

Interesting reading padmore's comments in the program this weekend. I wonder if he regrets the work he's done with the young boys at waimak now?

Doubtful, anyone who knows padmore would know he'd be really happy the young lads at waimak did well. Looks like a bright future for both clubs!

Round 3 Results & Scorers

Coastal Spirit 6 (Anthony Jones 2, Gareth Turnbull 2 - incl pen, Tristan Nichol, Danny Palethorpe) Halswell ) HT 2 - 0

Universities 0 Cashmere Technical 1 (Tom Schwarz - pen) HT 0 - 0

Western 2 (Cameron Bell, Daniel Thoms - pen) Christchurch United 1 (Gary Bint - pen) HT 0 - 0

Points: Technical 9, Coastal 7, Bays 6, Western 6, Universities 3, Suburbs 1, ChCh United 0, Halswell 0

Nelson Surburbs verses Ferrymead Bays played in Nelson on Saturday

So the first penalties of the season and I think the first red card as well.

Will need to check my records but likely to be Halswell's heaviest defeat in the MPL. 6 - nil is a record win for Coastal

Can confirm the 6 - 0 is the biggest ever loss by Halswell in 258 MPL games - previous worst result was two 5 - 0 results both away, the first in 2010 to Nelson Suburbs and the second last season to Cashmere Technical.

Yes great celebrations today, however I read your post as being all about Halswell losing by plenty. I was asking whether we have ever won by more.

FC lost 1-2 at home vs Selwyn today. FC led 1-0 then conceded after a mix-up on the stroke of half time for 1-1 at the break. Selwyn scored eary in the 2nd half and held on well. FC hit the crossbar a couple of times so probably were worth a point but it's all about taking chances. Fair to say Dan Ede's the best player i've seen in Div 1 this season by some distance
