Now play Coastal in the final on 12 September.he never reported every thing I said Tom,in no way is the ref to blame for the loss. It was a great game with a quality side Eastern Suburbs the deserved winners and not do I blame the chances we missed by my quality players who were outstanding I thought.
im a big fan of things balancing out and we did get a bit of luck against Western.
Regarding the ref it is common knowledge that we don't see eye to eye . His assistants had an ok game .2 weeks back we were told a neutral ref from Dunedin would be reffing , he at least would have been strange to both sets of players . Look I could look at it with a patch on but I'm sure neutrals that I have spoken too all had similar views. And if the decisions were correctly given that's not a given the result would have changed. But the game is over and Eastern are top side deservedly in the next round.it was good to see a lot people outside Tech come and support the lads ; even Albi and Thomo
Look forward getting behind the coastal girls in flying the flag for the region
South Island final set down for 5th September in Dunedin.
Hurley and English Cup be very nice.
Yeah it'll be a consolation for Tech to lock them away after their Chatham Cup disappointment ;)
They still have to get past the mighty FC20 yet though :)

FC20 playing Coastal in English Cup semi. I do fancy them to win. Young, motivated, high spirits after winning Div 1 and have nothing to lose. It will be a good test for them against a prem side. Glenn's men will go for it.
The weather today could be a bit of a leveller.
I hear several of the older/ regularly ChCh United players may have called it quits for the season which if true is a little strange as could still avoid the drop with a couple of wins. Also talk of a defeault for other Ram's side, not a good look all round.
Christchurch United 0 Universities 0
Halswell 0 Nelson Suburbs 3 (Sam Ayers, Tom Marston, Omar Guardiola) HT 0 - 1
Western 0 Ferrymead Bays 2 (Michael Forshaw, Michael White) HT 0 - 0
Points: Tech 48, Suburbs 43, Bays 36, Coastal 27, Western 20, Universities 19, Halswell 13, ChCh United 9

Yes confirmed that it was United Reserves team that defaulted against Technical in their knock-out game

Technical are champions.
Well done to tech, although could have been out of reach by half time except for average finishing. One area they can improve on for next season, although that is trying to look for something wrong. Can't be too wrong with their results this seasob

Yes Western battled well, with the woodwork also saving them. I do not think Tech had the same 11 on the park two games in a row and banked their third straight title without having an out and out striker for most of the season.
