See u there

Miramar had a poor Central league season (for them) last year, finishing 7th of 10. Be interesting to see how they're shaping up this year. Would expect comfortable win for Cashmere, even without Canterbury players.

Good to see sides getting out of town for games. Nothing like playing against some new faces & at new venues.

Good luck Coasters and Cashtec.

great game in Blenheim 34 heat

It was also 3-4 , Tech went 1-0 up 1-1 2-1 Miramar 2-2

3-2 Mirimar 3-3 then 4-3 to Miramar at the death . Great game.

Marlborough Football andAndrea especially put on a fantastic day

Uni were comfortable 3 1 winners over bays. Bays left it to last minute to get on the board

From preseason, which isn't a true indication especially with some teams opting not to play any friendlies against MPL opposition, who have been da standouts/players to watch this season.

Uni looking very strong this preseason. I know it doesn't count for TOO much but I wouldn't put it past them for a top 4 finish this season.

agreed, was impressed watching last weekends 4 1 win over western. Thought id pop along to watch against a strong Bay$ side, missed the first 25 but thought it was a step up on last week with 3 1 humbling bay$, could comfortably been 6.Seem to be a few new recruits who looked good, anyone know where they have come across from?

I must have watched the reserve games yesterday because I certainly thought it was an average game played by pretty average teams. With Bay$ being slightly below average with not one of their players standing out. Uni looked alright not so sure about top 4. Their defence n goalkeepers looked decent shaky at times out wide, their midfield had one or two decent players but were extremely average down the middle. No real playmaker or even someone to control the game. Up front they weren't outstanding but should go ok,just feel tht at MPL level the sitters they missed would certainly cost them tht "top 4" finish. Just my humble opinion.

agree to disagree then bumblebee, thought they had couple of handy lads in middle of park that could develop into a playmaking role but look pretty raw but that should come with experience. Thought uni were solid all round, agree defensively as bay$ struggled to create much. Correct about the finishing and that will make the difference of being mid table or pushing higher I feel

Coastal v Caversham on Saturday. Coastal looked OK for periods but probably need a couple of players through the middle if they're to be competitive. Do they have any Canty Utd players to come in? Didn't recognise many of the cavy guys so not sure whether they were holding back or they're just weaker than previous years.

So that's just 1 to be added, along with Spain. Yeah guess that makes a few..

Vim, were the Coastal boys on the speights hard Sat night in only beating Northern 1-0?

I heard it was 4-4 in the end.  Can't wait for the season to kickoff.

Someone should do a pick the winners competition like we did a few years back.

Yeah Vim was 4-4. Uni team was mostly reserves and fringe players except for 3 or 4. Also looked asleep for first half. Came back from 4-1 down to draw as halswell fell asleep later on. In other news, was good to see Rhys Parker back in action for Halswell.

I note this season's draw refers to English Park once again. ASB decided to back rugby over football. I thought we had a NZF CEO who is an ex BANK corporate WANKER BANKER. No pull obviously. Any thoughts on who might make a good sponsor for English Park? Guessing not Stonewood Homes.
