Some sort of correlation perhaps?

At least you're still playing. And could play.

I can barely walk. And couldn't.

1-1! Decent game but pity it wasn’t more of a goal fest. Hopefully the ref puts the fine money towards anger management.

Was a good watch. Two good teams.

Was interested to see Tawa got a good result against Brooklyn today.

Also heard Wharfies had their 3rd consecutive draw?

Streak of three!

This weekend's results make pretty interesting reading.

Petone beat Tawa 1 -0

Wests down BNU 5 - 2

Seatoun made it tougher for Karori losing 1 - 5

and NW beat Uni 4 - 1

means there are two clear leaders at the top. Wests and Karori separated by only 2 points on 23 and 21 respectively. Goal difference wont be an issue though with west +45 keeping them well ahead. (they can thank Seatoun for this in there speeches).

Bottom 3 are only separated by 6 points, Uni on 9, Petone on 8 and Seatoun on 3.

Two teams battling for 3rd on 13 points, NW and BNU.

Dreamers did their best to try and keep their drawing streak, but once Seatoun were down to nine men we slotted a few

i think you answered your own question. One legged it to work at half-time and then an injury took them to nine. Would have been interesting if there had been 11 as it was 1-1 after about 70min!

Was a good tough game for us against BNU.

We were down 2-1 early in the second half but managed to come back with 4 goals in the last half hour.

BNU had looked to have the game postponed that morning saying they only had 9 players. We didn’t accept and given they then turned up with a reasonably strong side we did wonder if there were a few games being played there!

How did everyone get on?

Wharf squeaked past the Uni students 2-1 whilst clocking up some more injuries. Uni goalie making some clutch saves.

Seartoun were doing ok against bnu for a good piece of the game but ended up crumbling 6-1, really surprised that for their home game none of their sideline managers or coaches wanted to ref, so we had to ref the first half.

BNU have been struggling for numbers apparently. Asked if we could postpone our game last week, although they did then turn up with a solid side when we said no.

Wests beat Petone 8 nil on the weekend. Was a tougher game than the score line suggests.  Found them pretty tough to break down initially but once we got a couple it got a bit easier.

yeah, bnu said they same to us when we got there, claimed that they had the bare 11, but had three "managers" on the sideline, none wanted to ref and a sub by midway first half.

yeah, i reffed one of our games vs petone, and the amount of grief they gvave me was insane, one of them even called me a cheat when I blew for a penalty against them.

he aopologised at the end of the game, but totally unecessary - especially as they we well ahead at the time.

Honestly, as a CF ref, this is super-typical behavior; slagged off during game; congratulated at the end of it. Not a master problem uniquely.

its pretty crappy. noone goes out with the whistle with the intention of favouring one team over the other.

I think two or three times a year I ask myself why I am refereeing... Get people happy to see a ref turn up before the game, hate me during the game then tell me I did really well and happy to have had a referee. You just kind of get used to it, but then it does depend on the abuse as well. Are they just unhappy at my calls or are they being actual dicks.

I stopped doing College Football for a few years as I found the parents just so bad from the sidelines, it wasn't worth it. Only just started doing games again this year before my stroke. (Of course, first game back doing College football, I send a player off for abuse too)

becoming a referee is something I'd like to do so when I finally give up playing i can still be involved, but the dickhead players worry me a bit.

I know we are getting a bit off-topic but just wanted to reply. Do it, I know as a referee I complain about players and stuff as well but to be honest I love doing it and miss it when I don't. Because I really couldn't play any more, I wanted to stay involved in football rather than justr be watching. Also of course we ALL WAYS need more referees.

Seatoun steal a 5-5 draw against Tawa today, second half was a testy little affair, Tawa lads couldnt deal with being behind, so turned on themselves and the ref......utter dickheads......

West’s beat Uni 6-4.

We're the (almost) giant killers of this league. We usually turn it on against the top teams. Last week a heartbreaking 2-1 loss to Karori due to an unlucky pen in the last 2 minutes. Yesterday 6-4 vs Wests..
And it's happened before. If we could bring our form when we play the top 3 sides in the comp to the other games we'd be in a better position right now

Only 2 games to go to close the season of 2020 out.

Seatoun iwll be looking to surprise the Uni Stallions again and maybe steal a win from Petone next week. Could see us lift off the bottom of the table.

wests are Karori are taking the #1 spot right down to the wire, 32 and 30 points. oth have tough games this week vs tawa and NW and then face each other to have a winner takes all match.

Pretty tight at the bottom with two to go down eh?

Tawa could get dragged into that bottom two with the Dreamers this weekend and then potentially a must win game against Uni in the last game?

Maybe they'll do us and themselves a favour by taking some points off Wharfies this weekend!  Tawa were quite competitive with us in the first half last weekend with the score being 1 nil at half-time.  They then had a good chance to equalise early in the second half and didn't take before fading away.
