I'm picking a Wellington team to win it this year - Everyone down here is talking up Lower Hutt as the team to beat.

If anything Petone just showd that often the team with the biggest names dont win up there. With the games being so short things just need to go your way and your through to knockouts, then its game on.

I havnt seen lower hutt play but Stop Out and Miramar show some potential to make the knock out stages. Why not a wellington team? Didnt wests get quite far last year?

Whats the weather forecast for Napier this weekend?

What Wellington teams will do well? Who will be flying the flag so to speak?

Agree with you about Lower Hutt but Stop Out are not good enough - Good going forward but poor at the back and they have a dodgy Keeper and you can't win Napier with one of these!

Tawa have done better than Stop Out in the Upper Hutt tournament. They have way more firepower than Stop Out have so should preform better than them.

Lower Hutt have a strong squad of 18 decent players so would be my pick from the Welling region to progress deep into the comp.

Island Bay to do well in the statilte.

Stop out were far better than Tawa at the Stop Out tournament the week before. Didn't see the final, just going on our games against each team. Tawa might have found more consistency at UH though, who knows. All comes down to who performs in Napier anyway.

Fuck this stupid game

Of the Wellington teams Lower Hutt two from two so far and looking good.

Interesting statistic and I might be wrong is that Petone have now played 17 games at Napier in a row without a loss.

Last two pool gmes in 2007
Unbeaten in 8 games 2008
Unbeaten in 5 pool games in 2009, but didn't qualify for the next round
two draws so far this year.

Must be some kind of record.

How's Tawa going? They have Nelson Suburbs midfielder Adam Smith in the team for the competition.

I know Wellington United managed to stay in the top draw for next year.

Apparently they bet UH after the UH had 2 players and their coach sent off.

Stephen Day scored an equalizer against City Rovers on the same pitch and against the team as last year. He wanted me to fill you all in on that.

And they scored before the players were sent off I think.simon_hampton2010-10-24 13:03:57

Fantastic result for the lads, with the average age being about 16 our goal was to be hard to beat and steel a result or two and stay up. The loss to Wests was hard to take but they were outstanding, I'd pick them to win or come close. The game against UH was fairly heated thoughout, we needed to win to ensure we stayed up and UH needed the win to go through. Some of the behaviour from the UH players/coaches/supporters was a bit disgraceful and it was little wonder the ref gave you nothing after the way he was treated.

Great tournament though, lots of talent around. Looking forward to seeing the tournament team and the nz20s.

Didnt see the game. So he was a poor ref then and let his emotions influence his decisions.
Well done to United, as the more teams in the top draw gives us more chance of winning it.

Just remember that when your team loses, you must find a scapegoat and blame it on the ref. If your team wins, it is because of your coaching and you have players who are stars in their eyes. The more you lose, the more reasion you have in abusing the ref because the ref has spoiled your game and prevented you from winning. You can do it with impunity on this forum.

To be fair 2B, the dude is knocking the ref immediately after saying that he didn't watch the game, based on the information that one sides supporters behaved terribly.

Thats right I didnt see the game. BUt a comment like "the ref gave you nothing after the way he was treated." Leads me to believe that you think he wasnt fair on Upper Hutt because he didnt like the way he was treated.  If refs want respect to it should be given to those that ref the game fairly with letting there emotions get in the way.

The Upper Hutt players and supporters had every right to be angry.was a disgraceful display by the ref.was def not a penalty.and 2 disallow a goal 30 secongs after it had been scored was the icing on the cake especially when neiklejohn done nothing wrong.even the linesman on the far side said it was a disgrace.

Bit of a footballing lesson in the final for Lower Hutt, all over the park especially in the middle of the park.

The standard of refing this weekend has been pretty ave, might have something to do with the elite refs course being run at the same time in Auckland, someone not using their top 2 inchs.

Hard to be unprofessional when you're not professional in the first place.
