All good. The WU coach text me saying it ended 1-1, named the goal scorer for them too so must be a mix up at the tourny somewhere.

godiamonds :)

Fuck this stupid game

Score has been altered on the website - is indeed 1 - 1.   Mis-communication or just a bloody oops.

Looking forward to another good day.   Interesting visit from Yellow Fever yesterday.

Don't piss off old people - the older we get, the less "Life in Prison" is a deterrent

Hamilton Wanderers now the only team with five wins after crushing Glenfield, have only conceded 1 goal all tournament.

27 Oct 01:12

3.00 pm QUARTER FINAL QUARTER FINAL

Lower Hutt City

v Birkenhead

Hamilton W

v Three Kings

The winner will probably come from one of these four.

Three for me, and two for them.

The satellite draw gets a big meh from me I'm afraid. Two superb quarterfinals coming up

Some good teams in there though. Springs would probably be a top 4 side in the main draw.

Three for me, and two for them.

Yeah there is, but that's just a weird component of the tournament, every year there seems to be 1/2 sides who are a class above the teams they get thrown in with.

Cashmere v Stop Out and Fencies v Eastern Suburbs in the other two quarters.

Eastern Suburb and Wanderers were both promoted from the satiillite tournament last year.

Wanderers definitely did, and yeah Oratia too I believe. Wanderers have a few players who have played at a decent level, have been playing some great footie, if they make their way through to the final I may have to stay around tomorrow to watch it. Big ask though, lot of 16/17 year olds in that team

Wanderers and Eastern Suburbs def up up from last season. Suburbs won in the final. Definitely not Oratia. Wanderers largely their reserve team that won NRFL prem reserve league. Only 3-4 players under 18. Captain is 17 and is at his third Napier tournament.

27 Oct 03:56

Oof, Wanderers lose on pens. Birko through after ET, as did Suburbs, Cashmere win 2-0.

suburbs beat wanderers in the final last year - one other main draw team pulled out - that could be where Oratia got in.

East subs v cashmere in the other....  Subs promoted from the satellite...

Cashmere Technical defeated Eastern Suburbs on pens after 1 - 1 at extra time and was told Three Kings won other semi over Birkenhead but awaiting confirmed result.

27 Oct 21:55

Yeah Kings won.

Three for me, and two for them.

27 Oct 21:57

Wharf lost to western springs. They were decent. Saw better footy in the satellite than when I watched the main draw. What was up with papatoetoe who were woeful and tried to default?

28 Oct 03:53

im trying to get my kid join stop out (12yrs old) so ive been watching them all year to see what sort of club they are

watched a few games at upper hutt and napier, massive difference in performance and attitude, players really looked like they wanted to win, in first game great work down right saw the RB put a cross on the strikers feet from bout 5 yards out, and other striker made it 2 shortly after. poor defensive mistakes cost them 3 goals with keeper (Guest Player?) a bit to keen come of his line, but the big English striker from the first team scored 3-4 contenders for goal of the tournament easy, my favourite a ripper from 35 yards against napier. but seriously they outpassed my expectations for making QF so well done!

lower hutt losing in quarterfinals? I didn't see much of the game has anyone got much details?

The finals from the last two years have been pretty honking games to watch.

Understandable after a gruelling weekend I guess.

Incredible stamina. No shame. Yellow Fever.

Massive understatement - I played in 2 finals here (in the late1940's - lost both of them, natch) and remember barely being able to walk during the warm ups.  Was absolutely broken by the end of these weekends

All I do is make the stuff I would've liked

New to this. Was in Napier this weekend some very good players there

Hamilton wanderers impressed me

Thos two blond haired kids up front impressed me as well, know there names ?

Blair Bates #9 and captain. The other lad was Jarrod Young #6, who has just signed for Waitakere.

28 Oct 07:08 · edited 28 Oct 07:33 · History

As to the age of the wanderers squad

2 boys U19

6 boys U18

5 boys u17

1 boy U16

missing 2 boys who signed academy contracts in UK a month ago and an U19 player through injury (who's now off to the USA) and 1 who couldn't attend due to WAIBOP Utd committments. The players at the tournament were the bulk of the side who played regularly and took out the NRPL Reserve league ......usually after a school game in the morning.

28 Oct 07:49

They were good hamilton no doubt.  Lower Hutt and birkenheads team  were 80 % u17 s also..

we only sing when were winning
