Jose is at Central is he not?
Fundamentally, I agree with what you are saying but I would say, if you could get the entire un17 team together in a winter club playing week in week out under their coach, that would be fantastic in terms of building the team and time together.
Whoops, inadvertently double posted.

Is it fair to say Wanderers are playing better this season than last? Is that because they are training "full time"? What more could have NZF done to better prepare for the U20 WC which kicks off in only 4 and a bit months now?
Like the U17's playing together in a winter comp - this was suggested for the U20's for last year. However realistically which club is going to say, yeah we'll suspend our first team so that the U17's can play together at our club? I'd suggest none. Whereas luring a couple of key age group national team squad members to shore up (excuse the pun) your first team - game on! As seen at Shore this year and ECB's last year.
There are a lot of solutions, none I'd expect would be universally welcomed, as is the patch protecting, self centred state of which appears to be engrained across all forms of football in NZ.
Just my thoughts, opinion, observations etc etc.
