They are… They have changed the regulations to allow reserves teams to be promoted. Have just decided to do it Merit based and not piss off every non-NL club.
They have said it is a first team competition Otherwise if say PNM pulled out Karori would be promoted as they finished 16 points higher than Rapa!
Capital Football remains open to National League reserve teams being eligible for promotion playoffs and future seasons. This will be considered after we have assessed the impact of the 2027 winter National League on the women’s competition pathway. I’m reading between the lines - reserves teams will be able to qualify next season, if they’re good enough.
Here are the Women’s Prem winners for the last decade. With National League players dropping in, it’s going to be a joke. Ironically I hear that this is the outcome that some Premier League Clubs voted for!

And the season ends at a windswept Seatoun Park with the Nix winning 6-0 and edging out PNU for fourth place on goal difference. Harsh result for the Toun who put up a good fight and kept the game entertaining.
Looking at the 12-point gap between fourth and third I think we’re in for quite a different competition next year.

Looks like Elsie got a hatrick. I’ve never seen her play but she must be about 15? Good prospect?

I'm generally a terrible judge of players, but for what it's worth she strikes me as like a younger Lily Brazendale - good pace up front and good at weaving past defenders.
