Yeah I agree.

What's Upper Hutts thoughts on this one?

Really the game is United's to lose (though I may be slightly biased)

Hoping for a nice, clean game with no red cards this time though.

I have not seen United play this season but have seen a big improvement in the Upper Hutt side from week to week  and the addition of Cushla has helped immensely (lets not get into that whole discussion again). Wendi back in the midfield has also improved things considerably. The aim for Upper Hutt would be to avoid relegation this year with possibly a mid table finish and I would think that is very much within their grasp. Have turned a 7-1 loss against Seatoun in first round to a 1-0 loss in the second and a 17-0 thumping at home into a 5-1 loss away against Massey. It will be an interesting run in to the end of the season and hopefully a good game on Saturday.

Why are the women at Newtown when my Masters game v Utd is at Miramar Pk? What's happened to gender inequality :)

So I can watch a masters game with a 12.30 kick off before heading along the road to D F Park.

With this weather it could be a disaster playing two games in a row on Newtown given it's not in great shape to begin with. Bit of a shame if our CL/WCL double header doesn't go ahead though.

Fuck this stupid game

1-0 utd. Rubbish game. UH need a couple of wins minimum  now

Game probably shouldn't have gone ahead.
Conditions were hypothermic like.  The wind meant it was near impossible for either team to really play football.
I didn't last the whole game myself and I was in a car!

It looked like Upper Hutt wanted to play Wendi up front but had no one feeding her so she went back into the mid.
From there she gave a few long balls that were dealt with.

United created a lot more opportunities in both halves and looked to want it more.

Other games - Seatoun just overcame Marist 1-0 in the dying minutes ... closer than I thought it would have been.  And solid wins from Karori and Massey over Valeron and Lower Hutt respectively.

Hypothermic like is right. Coldest I've ever been in my life. No one can play a decent game of football in weather like that.

Bloody terrible alright. bad enough watch from the car. The girls from the tropical climes of Upper Hutt simply weren't used to the shocking conditions of the south coast!!!  I honestly thought the lino on the olympic clubrooms side was going to keel over with Hypothermia.  Certainly not a great match to watch but quite understandable. Well done to Welly Utd though. took the chance they had and grabbed the points.

Haha he did look like he was about to keel over, poor dude!

What happened with the goal? My view was obscured by a tree. It seems like an innocuous ball in?

why were you lurking behind trees at a womens football match?

Actually, don't answer that.

Marist move into the drop zone. Seatoun failed to do the bizzo v Massey again - so the action for the rest of the season might lie at the bottom of the table.

great result for Wgtn Utd - takes the pressure off with two tough games coming up next

looks like the final game between marist and upper hutt could be the decider (for relegation)

Lucky for you, we were missing over 9 players this weekend and Marist refused to postpone or transfer the date

And both top teams still managed to win. Last laugh = United :)

We had NZF regs on our side. Bloody good result for Utd

You can't blame Marist for utd players choosing to go away though

Founder

Yeah I guess you're right. I don't even know what they went away for to be honest, just heard it was quite the juggling act to put out two competitive sides as well as our other two women's teams.

Players went to Kanga tournie in Oz. They must have been recruited from there by Nat- so take the good with the bad

Yeah true and good point about NZF regs. Would have been nice for a little bit of leeway as we do have a young team, but understandable Marist thought they would take advantage.  Probably would have been better for them to have transferred it as it ended up hurting them more as Currie was recovering from a concussion and couldn't play.

who are people picking to take out 8th place?

Upper Hutt have the best chances to take 6 points from their last 3 but can they do it? Wouldn't be at all surprised if the table stays exactly as it is.

UH to beat Marist this weekend?

I don't know. Marist did get a draw against Karori last weekend so will be up for the game against Upper Hutt. Think Upper Hutt will have most pressure on them to perform. Mind you if Lower Hutt don't win against Wellington United this weekend then I think the local darby between Lower Hutt and Upper Hutt could be the decider.

Karori rested a few players in that one. I don't think Marist have the capacity to score many goals. Carena is their main threat. I'll pick a draw this weekend.

Marist goalie will be away at u20s actually

i just think Marist are a team on the slide at the moment

Looking at UH's form lately, it is fair to say they have definitely improved

If UH win this one, I think you can say they are safe
