Rather than doing a thread for each round, we might as well just do one big one.

Western hosts Adelaide tonight to get us underway. Dura benched for Western.

No Burgess for WU? I know he was having a waaah in the off season about something that didn't go down particularly well with WU management. Is this the reason for not being in the squad? Or is he otherwise indisposed?

He was in Sydney when the Avalon cluster happened. Even if he wanted to go to Melbourne, he has to quarantine. So don't expect to see him soon.

0-0 at halftime. Reasonable game but both teams lacking in the final third

Thank you. Haven't been following too much A-League news outside of Nix stuff so knew I'd missed something.

Ends 0-0. Not much to write home about really

Bit of a non event game. few chances and a lot of poor ball control/passing.

Proud to have attended the first 175 Consecutive "Home" Wellington Phoenix "A League" Games !!

City 0-1 up but down to 10 men, should be an interesting last 20 mins

At least three teams played so far, that you have to wonder where their end product is going to come from.

I only saw the second half but Danzaki looks a good pick up for the Roar

Typical Kersey performance. What a lottery.

The new Roar stadium seems like a good sized venue. It looked packed.

A bit late to the thread but I thought that young Adelaide keeper looked impressive against WU. Only 21 I believe. Big future.

WSW vs Macarthur, this should be a good one tonight.

VAR overturns a WSW penalty

That's ridiculous- you can't take away a yellow for dissent. Dissent is dissent, even if the VAR process overules a decision.

As much as it annoys me that Dorrans left Dundee, enjoying seeing him play in A-League.

The card must've been for the handball...

Or if all cards are rescinded after the incident if VAR overturns it, could he have punched the ref and got away with it?

Cox isn't that good. Just realised he would've played with Dorrans at West Brom.

Very good intensity to this match. Cox should have put WSW ahead just before the break but we go in at 0-0

Cool that Macarthur turn up at first match with this Lachlan Rose who seems a fun young player.

Good sleak passing and pressing by Macarthur, hope they win.

Federeci is making some great saves to keep Macarthur in this

Benat wastes a great chance.  Still 0-0

Big deflection off the wall and Macarthur take the lead.  0-1

Commentators discussing who should get credit for the goal, I say neither of them should.

Very good game for round 1, both teams looking very good. Promising signs for the competitiveness of the league this season

I've got the Jets here, tipping 2-3

That was nasty on Hoffman. Bozanic "lucky" the VAR can't issue him a yellow

Duncan doesn't commit to come out for a ball and Kuol sneaks a head to it and puts CCM ahead,  1-0

Stensness looks like he had bulked up a little in the off season

What a save by Birra

Not a great game but happy for CCM fans to end the season with this high point. CCM finish 2020 on top of the table.

Not watching the game, so apologies if mentioned in commentary. But see VUC have 3 Kiwis starting.

Record for a non Nix, A League side?

Nice to see Maxime Teremoana start the season in goal for Victory.
