1) WU take a point or 3 off Macarthur
2) Roar draw with Perth and lose to Sydney
3) Adelaide lose to WSW
4) We beat Macarthur

We finish 4th!

Sadly 1) ain't gonna happen. WU are a shambles, not helped by having to take this 'home' game to Sydney. Fear Macarthur will crush them.

2) also looks unlikely given both games are at home for the Roar, and SFC are depleted, plus by that last game they may have nothing to play for, ie top 2 finish already nailed down. Corica may even send a bunch of kids to Brisbane, considering they will have a heavy schedule of AFC games post the A League playoffs.

3) But Adelaide losing to WSW, yipe that could definitely happen. Lets hope so.

A draw works also. Macarthur have to drop points to put our fate back into our hands.

Wales up fron, no Berisha on the bench. Rudan showing us a big middle finger it feels.

Doubt Rudan is giving us the finger, likely he is looking after himself.

Rib injury apparently. Snakes have hundreds of ribs, so not surprised it's the type of injury a WU player would succumb to.

After losing 6-1 to the worst team in the league with Durante out, you'd think he would be back? I'm not his biggest fan, but you'd think after playing so many A-League matches he would deserve to make their team the last couple of matches. I'm guessing he did something to piss off Rudan...

Berisha didn't play last match either, I don't think Rudan intentionally tanking.

Does Rudan at WU spend half the season trying to pressure the owners to do more like he did with us?

Yeah, I doubt he has even thought about us. Its just this is a rather important game for us, so I wanna be more pissed at Rudan when they lose this.

WU can barely get the ball out of their own half. They missing Dura big time.

We should've loaned WU some reserve players for this match to give them a chance.

How did this team put 4 goals past Macarthur earlier in the season? Crazy how bad the wheels have fallen off.

So we need Adelaide to lose to Western AND Perth to drop one of their two now?

praying for a WU win here is a bit like praying to win the Euro Millions.  NOT GOING TO HAPPEN.

Our season ended pretty much the moment Davila stepped up.

Sort of yes, or one of those could be replaced by Brisbane only getting one more point.

WSW winning vs Adelaide & Glory dropping points vs Roar or Jets + us beating Macarthur

Or Roar only picking up 1 point vs Glory & Sydney + us beating Macarthur

I know Covid made a mess of things, but EVERY year we start so slowly. If you took the last 50% of games each season I'm pretty sure the Nix would make the play offs most of the time. Take the first 50% of games and we are nearly always near the bottom. Hopefully the players currently cheering on a terrible WU team as one of their only hopes to make the top 6 remember this early next season and treat all the games with intensity rather than warm ups...

We will know our fate before we play Macarthur at least.

The Newcastle v Perth game on Saturday could still effect if we make it?

If the Glory beat the Roar, yes. That will also mean the Roar/Sydney game comes into play.

It would be great next season, if the visa striker (presuming there will be one) is there fit, from game 1. Heaven forbid is even there for a full preseason. Both Hooper & Hemed have come in late, and it's only the 2nd half of each season that they have hit their straps. Huge part of the reason Nix have started slowly both terms.

IIRC we had Hemed lined up quite a bit before he signed but had issues negotiating for his family to arrive which was the hold up. But hopefully no hickups this time.
