A-League Draw 2013-14

Now the FFA is hoping to schedule its next grand final as close as possible to the May 15 cut-off date mandated by world governing body FIFA for domestic competitions.
Despite running several weeks longer than the one just gone, the A-League season will start only a week later, on Friday, October 11. While there will be no international breaks, an occasional week off will be rotated between the clubs.

The Western Sydney Wanderers have been identified as a potential prime-time goldmine for SBS, with speculation they could be given as many as five Friday night matches.

De Bohun confirmed the Sydney and Melbourne derbies would be early in the season - but not in round one.

We would probably get the byes during the FIFA windows.

Don't understand. Instead of byes, why didnt they just break for internationals.

The new TV deal says they have to provide 5 games a week. They are gonna have to try to re-negotiate it for 4 games I guess.

Awesome! At least that gives me something to do in the off-season - saving for and planning away trips with plenty of notice! :-)

Newcastle away is definitely on the agenda again this year (and CCM isn't unless it fits a double header!)!

Need to get that Nov WC Qualifier & the Welly v Sfc  date sorted as soon as pos!!

A week or two apart I could make a holiday out of it but any further it becomes tricky.

They haven't confirmed the AW's venue yet, have they?

Not yet.

Hoping for Perth away to kick off. Cuts out some of the travel issues if we arrive a little earlier than normal.

Perth away first up would be a good tester.

So does anyone else see "train wreck" written all over this?

For whom?

The AWs, SFC or me? ;)

You'd figure Ernest would be taking the bye on the weekend of our qualifier? Well you'd hope so. Wish NZ'SF would hurry the fuck up & announce the venue already.

Car rego due on 1st June ($1000) & the only chance to purchase flights will be with my 3 years worth of tax returns in July.

From a Mariner’s view…

Friday: 2
Saturday: 8 (4 afternoon, 4 night)
Sunday: 2
Tuesday: 1 (NYE)
Thursday: 1 (North Sydney) community round

6 late starts + NYE….
4 Saturday Afternoons
2 Sundays afternoons…
1 Thursday night ..

IMO the best we have had I think our best crowds are Saturday nights, then Friday nights …. Afternoons have always been difficult and Sunday afternoon the hardest so given we need to share Sunday afternoon and Saturday afternoon I think this is the best draw we could have hoped for…

As an aside a Thursday night at NSO could be OK if enough office workers come…
